I just finished showing your blogs to our Deaf ASL instructor. She loved them! She thinks it is such a great idea that you have to open up the world of communication across continents like that, and said she truly admires what you are doing. She looks forward to more demonstrations, and said to thank you for being such a wonderful ambassador for the deaf communities.

These are great! Wonderful to see the comparison between ASL and AUSLAN. I love the sign for BORN with the "head" pushing through; it's so graphic compared to ASL.
Do you know whether the British Sign Language (BSL) and AUSLAN alphabet are the same? The few letters I know looked the same but I don't remember the BSL alphabet well enough to know the rest. I assume BSL had some influence on AUSLAN. I would really love to learn a foreign sign language at some point. |

It is a true pleasure of mine to show a lot of VLOGs on AUSLAN between ASL, and I tend to continue making videos for you all to enjoy! Thank you for such kind words for me as an ambassador for the deaf community of America and Australia.. I am truly honoured. Keep an eye on this thread for updates! I have updated the vlogs yesterday, but I believe you have watched them already ![]() Quote:
Yes, Interpretrator - the alphabet in AUSLAN is pretty much the same as BSL, BSL has influenced some signs on AUSLAN, but remember, we have our own signs in AUSLAN. BUT Between ASL , BSL and AUSLAN - there are some signs which are the same, no matter what for.

AUSLAN signs looked somewhat simliar to BSL signs.
![]() jclarke, just wondering here. Did you and your parents visit DeafChat.com in the late 1990s and early 2000s? I have read your previous entries here, one was where you talked about going to Washington, DC when you were very young. The lady was telling some people in DeafChat that she was taking her son, about 12 at the time to visit Gallaudet in the early 2000s. |

Alright, ladies and gentlemen.... I am planning to make another VLOG while I am on holiday in Perth WA (West Australia) next week. I would like to know, just to add into the VLOG, what would you like to see in the AUSLAN language? I am leaving on Monday next week... and while I am filming, I wouldn't be able to put it up once I have returned, but only be able to come online and post as usual via my sidekick 3.
So if you have any curiousity about the AUSLAN Vlogs, please feel free to post up here. NOTE: for new members, who has not read this thread, I can sign ASL, so it is more easy for you guys to know what the signs you would be expecting in AUSLAN. Look forward to your feedbacks.

I will try my best to capture one VLOG during my holiday trip, as for a change. In other matter, for the VLOG #5, I have been a bit concerned about that, does it confuse you a bit or did you get it all right? Did it need a bit of work besides the best first few VLOG's? A feedback from you would be great! P.S = The last two VLOGS has been captured by my cell phone with 5 MP Camera, I know it is quite difficult to import it over to my PC and edit it as I don't have any proper software to reformat my mpeg4 files to the PC - only have Windows Movie Maker.

Of course! A lot of deaf people I know, generally from Melbourne are very impressed on what I have discussed about. And they want me to do it one day. But Jillio, I have a question, does this occur to the deaf people who has experiences in multimedia within the employment status to make the hearing employers/employees aware about the deafness at the workplaces?
