I cannot speak or lipead. Zip-zero.

P.S. I apologize for deleting my other thread of the same topic because I did not realize I posted it without poll nor did I realize the thread was already created. I kinda screwed up because I'm still very new to this forum. It has more complex features that I have to get used to.

<---Illiterate at lipreading

Same goes fer speaking

I can lipread and talk just fine, wish I could talk on the phone but I have no idea what the hell the person on the other side is saying.. bummer..

Hmm Didnt i posted here? Ah well. I am oral. I can lipread but only when the background is to loud. Im HOH.

I can speak very well, and lipread well. Lipreading goes a thousand times better with my CI. I'm still at the beginning stages of my journey, so lipreading is still important.

:boink: :laugh2:

Lipreading is important? Not until you lose all of your vision caused by injury/accident, aging, or eye disease. :)

I can do both. I can catch about 90-95% of what the person says when Im lipreading.. when I speak, I speak clearly enough for those that know me well, but for those that don't, sometimes it's difficult.

Suppose I said, "Did you see my cat?"

Would you know if it was cat, hat, bat, date, gate, kite, or rat.

i have been "trained" to do lipreading and speaking -- my lipreading skills has gone down the drains and i dont particularly care and so has my speech skills has gone down the drain too *shrugs*

:werd: I don't care about my speech either.. I prefer ASL.

Hi, I can talk and lip read... I lipread perhaps 70% of the time as it depends on who I am talking with and how fast the person's talking, etc. I think I could do better but just can't be bothered cos I'm Deaf. :P
