Hello! I am working towards being an ASL Interpreter and I have been self taught and going to classes the last two years. I have a friend who is deaf and we mainly sign in a mix of English and ASL (she's really not all that familiar or comfortable with siging in just ASL) so if someone could help me specifically with ASL that would be amazing! I have a placement test coming up rather quickly and I am nervous about it so any help over Skype or something would be awesome! Please and thank you! :)

You should go read all the other threads where all the other students just like yourself come here begging for help from us with their homework and see our responses to those. They usually go a little something like.... No... we're not your lab-rats. You shouldn't have put off your homework so last minute. Maybe you should have gone out and put effort in earlier... Do you think we're just here to help students with homework? Oh, so you think we exist for nothing but your convenience? Oh, so you think you're not the 80 millionth student to log on here, make an account and try this BS with us, right? Oh, forget introducing yourself and being polite, I'm just going to make an account and get help with my homework because that's all I need screw these Deaf people I don't need to get to know them or use manners with them, they owe me because I'm becoming a terp!

Congratulations, you're the 3943094293857059283750923875 student to make an account here and ask for help with homework, not introduce yourself, cut straight to the point, assume we owe you something for some odd reason and we're just going to JUMP right at helping you with your freaking homework for some ungodly forsaken reason.

Reality check.

Lawl... that's a version of lol... just an amused not actually laughing version.... because in all seriousness... I can't believe people can have absolutely no manners such as this and come in here believing we'll be so quick to jump to help someone who was so irresponsible simply because we "owe" them something... or anything like that.

Feel free to read among the threads, go to life print or Aslpro.com... but I sincerely doubt you're going to find what you're looking for here... especially after that and like I said, being you're only the 3943094293857059283750923875 person to come on here and attempt the very same thing as the thousands of others. *sigh* Have fun with that placement test and everything, though.

If you are serious about becoming a professional interpreter I advise you approach your training in a more professional manner. Get yourself into an ITP.

I managed to graduate from my ITP without once using AllDeaf. Yes, it can be done.

In fact, I didn't join AD until after my graduation and working in the field in order to gain some street cred before signing up here.

In definitely won't hurt for you to read existing threads here though.

If you are "self-taught" then what kind of classes have you been attending for two years?
