dont think it is cheating unless you know that she is seeing another guy.

Well, I'll be honest here...

I don't see a problem with talking to girls on phone or on-line as long it is ' friendship ' then I don't see a problem with why you couldn't or allow to....My boyfriend, Roadrunner do talk to girls on line and it's doesn't bother me at all, because I do trust him, if your girlfriend doesn't trust you than there is no relationship..' Trust ' is the important part in a relationship.. IMO!

Right on, Angel.

But what disturbs me the most about that posting is that he called her a bitch. How can a good decent loving man call his girlfriend a bitch? It shows lack of disrespect there

I would freak out too if my b/f called me that degrading name - it will just esaclate into ugly fights, whether it is about him cheating with a girl on the phone or not.

Could u Explain more Deeply the reason why she Yelled at u and How this whole thing Started Maybe We could Understand More...

If she yelled at u because u simple talking to a female on the phone as long it is Friendship then she has no reason to be Jealous. I agree with ^Angel^ On her Post, I feel the same way She feels.

I think it would be better if u hang up with that Female and Deal with ur Girlfriend in Private away from the Phone because, This Girl is maybe Hearing you yelling at ur girlfriend it isn't Good to Embarrassed her like that...

Yeah, I notice that, I was a bit scare to say something about that because , I didn't want to get jumped on! I agree Meg, no boyfriend should call his girlfriend that word or any cruel words if you happen to love someone! I don't know about some people but for myself here, I wouldn't want to be called that!

if shes just a friend and a platonic one at that then ur gf shouldnt be going on a temper tantrum unless u are yakking on the fone for hours and hours with this same girl and u call that girl a "friend" and the gf might think otherwise from the way u sit around yakking on the fone for longer than a reasonable time period -- just my thoughts what really is going on tho

Looks to me that because they were fighting, he just blew up and called her the name out of anger, probably didnt really mean it..
He needs to come in and clarify this to us so we will understand better.

Still no excuess what he did , or how it may have happened, when someone have an agruement with their spouse or partner, walk away and cool down before you react that may end up hurting the relationship with your spouse or partner! There just no excuses to use any kind of verbal abuses toward the person you love!...IMO There's no justification for that kind of behaviour, it's so much better to walk away and simmer down (cool down) before such words are lashed out that could make matters more difficult and harder to resolve...True love CAN lead the way and help each one of us to deal with certain problems much better without blurting out hurtful and spiteful name-calling....

DeafNeggafasho, can you tell us exactly what happened? What did your girlfriend get upset about when you were talking to a girl on the phone? Like other Aders here, calling your girlfriend a b*tch is not nice and will not help solve problem. Most ladies will not stay with men for long who calls them nasty names because it shows no respect. My husband has lady friends and I do not get upset about it when he talks to them, because I know that his heart is for me only. I also talk with men friends and he does not have problem with it either. We do not flirt in person or online either with other people and we know it. My husband knows that I truly love and cherish him forever. Like Angel said, trust is the most important in relationship...when there is no trust, it is very hard to keep relationship going....I totally agree with her. Can not really forcefully HOLD on to this person you love...u gotta trust and let her go do what she wants...if the relationship is meant to be, she will be there for you. Trusting sometimes is hard at first, but if you show that you trust her, she will feel that she can trust you too and the relationship WILL grow.

I don't consider it cheating... unless you're doing something naughty on the phone. I see nothing wrong with having a decent converstation with another gal on the phone. Women and girls are still people... there's nothing wrong with talking to them, regardless of who they are.

However, if it's phone-sex... that's a different story!

Well it depends on how the phone conversation was made....

If the boyfriend trys to make it secretive, etc... and gets tons of phone calls with that girl... then I would consider it cheating.

The reason I believe that is because my Ex did the exact same thing to me. Because I am Deaf I have no idea who he's on the phone with. And a few times he actually covers his mouth so I can't read his lips, and he would spend hours on the phone whilst he and I aren't really talking that much, I really felt hurt -- one night I finally asked him who was on the phone, he yelled at me and snapped "None of your business!!" Wow.

It may not be physical cheating, but it is emotionally cheating, because you are confiding in this girl you're talking with over the phone.

For that reason, I sometimes get scared dating a Hearing guy again... I might consider it if I can trust that guy, and if he didn't have the habit of taking phone calls while at dinner table, or whatever (ugh pet peeve!)

People with a "lack of disrespect" are fine, unstanding people! I know Meg meant "lack of respect". And I agree with many of the responses here....

depends

it depends on if you are talking to this other girl and trying to get with her or just talking with this girl as in friendship talking. I talk to girls other than my girlfriend on the phone and its fine. She knows I would never cheat on her so she trusts me . It justs seems like your girl may be too jealous or something.

Well, I gotta admit, I am generally NOT comfortable with the idea of seeing my guy talking on the phone, regardless who he was talking to or what he was saying.

I've been Deaf forever and I see someone close to me talking on the phone, it makes me feel awkward. I have no idea to know when it is a good time to interrupt or if I should wait or ignore him or her and do my things instead.

However, when it comes to relationships and as a part of the Deaf culture, I expect for my guy to explain the phone call. Not necessarily because he can talk on the phone, it's because it is common courtesy we choose to practice. It is not about sharing all the secrets with someone you love either. I'd tell them what my TTY call was about.

Because of this courtesy we practice in our community, a hearing partner may be confused by this. And the list goes on, too...

For example, in my family, when someone comes home, he or she would yell, "Hey, I'm home" and that was enough, but in my culture, it was NOT even close. Whenever my friends or roomies come home, they'd walk up to me and say, "Hey" to let me know that they're home. I've grown accustomed to that, so I have my own share of problems whenever I go visiting my family. ("Hey, why didn't you tell me that?" Confused faces would look my direction. Oops)

To better visialize what is cheating here....

What would you do if you see your hearing husband/wife talking to your children without using sign language in front of you?

Is that called "rude?"

You BETCHA!

Glad he's banned. He forgot to mention "Vocally talk" rather than "Talking" because we can talk in so many different forms!!

Anyway, let's revive this thread: Is it?

My answer: It depends on conditions, I do talk with my sister!!!

Black rappers justify that it's ok since it's a black thang to call their girlfriends "bitches" but I think it only makes them ni*ggers. If they want respect, they gotta respect themselves and their own brothers/sisters.
