AP - Oscar-winning actress Emma Thompson will be one of Harry Potter's teachers at Hogwarts School in the third movie of JK Rowling's magical books, filmmakers Warner Bros Pictures announced.

In "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban", Thompson takes the role of Sybill Trelawney, the eccentric and dubiously skilled professor of divination.

The three young student wizards, Harry, Hermione and Ron, are played again by Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint.

Maggie Smith is back as Professor McGonagall, Robbie Coltrane as Hagrid and Alan Rickman as Professor Snape. Newcomers Gary Oldman and David Thewlis are Sirius Black and Professor Lupin, and Michael Gambon has taken on the role of Professor Dumbledore, who was portrayed by the late Richard Harris in the first two films.

In "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban", the three young stars return to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as teenagers and become involved in the mystery surrounding escaped prisoner Sirius Black.

Warner Bros said the film will be distributed worldwide in the (northern) summer.
