Best careers for deaf people?

What are the list of good paying careers that would be most appropriate and hassle free for the average mentally functioning deaf/hearing imparied person today?
Why I ask this is because, I am at the stage where I am about to go to college to work towards getting a degree and eventually career. I, honestly, am however a bit intimidated to get into ANY field of careers, because there will most likely be major communication difficulties and telephone requirement for most of the jobs out there, as there has been for me all of my life!
Can anybody out there, with solid experience, guide this confused, sociophobic, but highly motivated hearing impaired person, in terms of pointing at the right direction for what would be a list of good careers appropriate for deaf/hearing impaired people?
I thank all in advance with a severe amount of gratuity!!!
