Question Need sign help from Jewish/Israeli Deaf, please!

Hi there, ASL terp from Boston on again

Does anyone know a sign for Jewish holiday SHAVUOT? Happens seven weeks after Passover...to commemorate God giving 10 commandments at Mt. Sinai...

Thanks in advance!

David Bar Tzur is a good resource for Jewish signs. His website is:

http://www.theinterpretersfriend.com/

The specific link for Shavout service signs is:

http://www.theinterpretersfriend.com...avuot/toc.html

A good book is:

Celebrating Judaism In The Home, A Manual for Deaf Jewish Families
by Rabbi Miriam Biatch of Temple Beth Solomon of the Deaf in CA.

You can order it thru 818-896-6721/TTY, 818-899-2202/voice, 818-899-2123/fax.

The sign that David uses for Shavuot:

SHAVUOT - EIGHT-WEEKS.

aslpro.com also uses 8-Weeks sign (to see video):

ASLPro.com uses "7-Weeks", and David uses "8-weeks". I am not sure why they don't use the same sign. It seems like it should be for the seven weeks, so I am not sure why David makes it 8-weeks. Maybe you can email him directly for his wisdom or any other questions you have:
