3G videophone cellphone

I'll believe when I see it. That videophone cell with 25-30 fps with high speed wireless coverage sounds like overkill to me. LOL

I don't like that idea because how can you sign that tiny camera and put the cellular phone sit and later it fell down and set up that straight and fell?? I know they are working on as hologram mean you talk or sign to air and then look at your watch until they finish and then sign in the air. It have one in Disney World but not release yet.

Interesting. Japan is more advanced in buasiness and technology anyway. I looked at it and it looks good if you talk in it but if you sign it would be hard to do in that little image. But looks good for hearing people. Not necessarily deaf people though.

*snicker* No, not quite. Nothing like that exists or is even possible yet with the technology we currently possess. There's no way to "talk or sign to air" without some kind of camera present that can see you sign from that direction.

But "rumors" that they will make videophone on Sidekick 3 in 2006.

With what wireless technology? Unless Sidekick is released on another wireless provider that has the network capabilities to stream video, that's not going to happen. T-mobile's network isn't ready for that, and two years is kind of dubious. I'd put that rumor in the "might happen if things really go T-Mobile's way." category.

Interesting. Japan is more advanced in buasiness and technology anyway.

Japan did experience quite the revolution in technology when U.S. tech companies took advantage of the cheapness of intelligent labor from Japanese citizens. We're looking into the same kind of thing happening for India and China in, say, 20 years.

I heard there is an option to have cable speed access on Sidekicks (the normal speed most Sidekick users use is 56K), so I won't be surprised if they add a videophone later on.

I like to think I have a good pulse on technology updates, especially when it comes to wireless technology. It's part of my job, after all.

If you could be so kind as to cite your source, I would like to do my best to believe this rumor has any chance of being true. The question begs, what possible use could a Sidekick user have with high speed access? Email, AIM, SMS, etc. don't NEED high speed data access. Video tech does, yes.

In order to use "video technology" three things need to happen.

1) The phone needs to have a processor capable of processing video streaming.
2) The phone needs to have a video screen capable of outputting video clearly enough for a person to see on it.
3) The phone network needs to be fast enough to download (and/or upload) video fast enough for the person to communicate efficiently.

I just don't see T-Mobile having the resources for this. Cingular, Verizon, and Sprint are the only three that I know that have plans to roll out any kind of technology that could POSSIBLY take advantage of this. I.e., Sprint has announced their EV-DO technology roll out -- right now, you can download clips of sports games to watch on your phone. It's not real time, and they don't expect that to happen for another year or two. That's only downloading, and being able to do it BOTH WAYS in REAL TIME will be a technical nightmare to work through.

Please give me a source where you've seen the rumor of Sidekicks or even T-Mobile having this kind of "cable internet" access.

Hell, yeah!! With Sidekick and the web browser, we need the high speed access! I hated using Sidekick's web browser and takes like 6 pages to load, two minutes each, before I can finally check my Hotmail account.

The source where I got the info about high speed access for Sidekick was in person and at a cellphone store. I asked why it wasn't "announced" to have high speed access for the pagers, I was told many phone/internet companies want more customers and more money with the slow access. I did not get this information online.

Well I have seen myself and it have one but it didn't release the public.

That's nice. How are we supposed to believe what you say, when you have no collaborative evidence? I'm not saying you're a liar, I'm just saying that it's hard to believe, and you insisting it's true and you've seen it yourself but no one else in the media or news has said they've seen it just sounds like someone who won't admit they're not telling the truth. If all this is so secret that no one is supposed to really know about it yet, then telling us all this does you no good.

None of the U.S. cell networks have "high speed" access on par with cable internet because of their bandwidth limitations. It's just not cost effective to give everyone those kind of speeds with the radio wave limitations set up today.

How much more are you willing to pay to get "high speed" access for your Sidekick? I suppose that T-Mobile could get those speeds to you if they upgrade their networks ASAP, but it's going to cost them. It'll be up to you to pay for those speeds. Suppose your prices rise from $19.99 or $29.99 unlimited to $59.99 for cable internet speeds, JUST on your phone? At least with my Sprint Treo 600, I can buy a program that will allow me to hook up my phone to my laptop computer and use the phone as a modem.

Then you will have to go Disney World and visit Ecpot. I do not know if they still do sample or stop doing this. So.. beside it neat.
