Different a poem by Wolfgirl
What I have cannot be seen
Except a tiny machine
You remove it, I cannot hear you
I am different
I spoke words once
I listened once
But a disease robbed me
I am different
I do not like the sound of my voice
It's loud, and people make faces
I am different
I use my hands to talk
Simple, complex gestures
Signs that show the beauty of my world
I am different
I have a community
We are the same, each with which cannot be seen
We are different
Love envelopes us
Beauty surrounds us
Silence is
We are different
Some families don't understand
No effort given us to learn our language
We are different
So to family
I am different
My language so beautiful I share to you
Scattered are my thought
Lonely without those dear
I am different
Friends I have
Community
A language so beautiful
All with what cannot be seen
I am different
Different
