I am not surprised to know that CI is useless.

Now you should write a book for CI Doctors to read and stop encourage deaf babies to get CI.

Huh? ONE case automaticly means CI is useless? *walks away befuddled*

$40,000 with 50/50 success rate, I call it as FAILURE.

Define success...... I do agree there's variable results from CI, and the end results are very individual, but even at HearingExchange (boy I'm going back a while....talk about dead forums/dead sites) they said that success was very individual, and that someone who got very little benifit from aids might count it as successful if they got environmental sound... Others count it as successful if they get to HOH listening levels.

Have you been to see a CI surgeon and see what they think? Maybe see neurosurgeon. Do they think it's a failure of the implant or maybe it's some kind of immune response rejecting implant or something. It could be totally unrelated too just happens that h you are getting this pain and also have CI

I think it's up to 2-3 times that for initial device and surgery in the USA. But your success rate is WAY off. FDA would have pulled the device long ago if that was the case.

Cochlear Implant was a medical/political move. They knew it is a failure, and they will unplug Cochlear Implant very s l o w l y. (faster if they find something else better than CI to cure deaf)

Insurance will cover CI 100% while they refuse to cover deaf patients to get Hearing Aids unless request through Vocational Rehabilitation, and you will not be qualified for free HA's through VR if you work a full time job.

What's that? :hmm:

Insurance coverage for CI and HA varies by the state and company and individual policy benefits. For example Kaiser in CA covers a new HA every 3 years. In CO it's a $500 annual allowance. Medicare and many other instances only covers about 80% off CI device and surgery.

Indeed.
The very first inplants on humans were done as experiments, against medical ethics, the push to have them inplanted in babies was one drivin by ideology, not science.
A book that is fair and explores in some detail the idea of the "cure", and an "end to deafness" and the maricle of ci is the artifical ear.
Ci. Has allot of murky history...babies were inplanted against the advice of the leading surgions of the day. jn France and England..yet...money was driving it...and ideology....the hearie obsession and thats what is is an obsession to rid and cure the world of defective people like us. Deaf.
