Wow, that's interesting. I wonder if that was from old days

No, it's still the same... I found the link... I pasted some from link between Austria and Japan and add some extra what I know from my experience what I had been through with 2 babies. It's not just me but everyone as well.

During 14 days in hospitial, I have many interesting things to learn and go to classes how to bath baby, education, etc... read the mother and baby books, time with my baby, etc.

After 14 days over, I feel unsure with my first baby then health insurance order midwife to visit us at home and show me things... I learn to cope with my first baby within one week then I do not need midwife... If I need her then call her. After 7 days over, I do not need midwife when I had 2nd baby.

Germany:
Relax is the key / Luxury of long stay

When you give birth at birth centers, all they tell you to do is to "relax". You can choose wherever you like at whatever position you may wish to take.

You can stay on average of 5 to 7 days in the hospital after natural birth and 12 to 14 days after c-section here in Germany. Yes they force you to stay until the doctor feels you are quite recovered. During the stay, you will have the chance to go to breast-feeding classes, bathing for babies classes and children education classes.

Specialists for your special baby

The new born will be examined by specialists, such as orthopedics to check how their legs spread, eye specialists to check the eyes.

Natural birth is the thing

Epidural is not common here in Germany.

Nowadays most mothers go home 2 to 3 days after a natural birth and 3 to 5 days after a c-section. By the way, my c-section was not all that bad and I got to heal really nice. Doctor advices us who had c-sections for a speedy recovery is to begin to be up and move about as much as we can which I did.

You are faster than me... They give me plenty of time to get up and move... Occchhh I know what c-section is... painful!!!! I know there're cons and pros between c-section and natural birth but I prefer natural birth.

Anyway, enjoy yourself to see the link... Interesting link about different childbirth of the world.
