Cruise ship runs aground off Italy, 3 dead

Thank you, Reba. What wrong that captain and officers heard warning alert in avoiding hitting rock or sandbar? they should change to drive

that's why captain is being charged with negligence and manslaughter. it's the result of human errors.

Other experts say cruise ships have doubled in size over the past decade and are being designed with guest amenities rather than safety in mind.

Found this tidbit from the article. That part isn't good. They chose that over safety.

the crews were probably having a powerful joint in the captain's steering room....jk ofc

Well, it goes way back. The Titanic disaster was a perfect example of that. Not enough lifeboats for all of the passengers due to wanting more deck space.

Go ahead and say it. Thirty five most likely dead.
After more than three days, it doesn't look good. There could be hope if they're inside a dry area of the ship. Otherwise, if they didn't drown or get knocked out right away, hypothermia is a real possibility, especially for the elderly missing passengers.

I read that they're using cave divers to search the interior ship spaces.

That's far fetched from what the accident with the Titanic back then. 1,514 died and only 711 survived, that's it. Most died because of the waters were very cold.

no. the point is - the behavior and what had transpired were very similar. people panicked. crew panicked. both ships were sinking and drawing in water fast. both ships' uses of life boats were ineffectual. passengers in both ships did not receive practice emergency drill.

You always bring a pocket flashlight on cruise ship. Occasionally cruise ships have power outages, and it can be disturbing to find yourself in complete darkness. If you bring your own flashlight then you will still be able to see to get around both in your cabin and on the ship
