Whoa, I read this http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/617/617951p1.html

Xbox 360 is more powerful over ps3. I believe that M$ just play game with Sony since. Unitl xbox 360 will full reveal before release xbox 360, I do assume that. Or possible Sony would do same thing? But it provide that anayzling how much speed, gpu, etc- that's overtotal best is xbox 360. Well, I'm waiting unitl both release. Otherwise, xbox 360 will be frist release then ps3 and will be happen to their business will going to be mad race! =)
Wait... the analysis is conducted by Microsoft... of course the result is very, very biased. I don't want to see any analysis from Sony or Microsoft but only non-Sony/Microsoft.

Which one is better in terms of features, specs, etc? Does anyone have a clue of how much it's going to cost for either one?

Holla!

P.S. The PS3's controller looks like a boomerang, anybody notice?
Alex,

I am crazy freaking fan of XBOX console and games over PS console included games... I would buy XBOX 360 when it release on 11/2005, but I doubt about that if xbox 360's CD ROM will automatically read XBOX CD Games. Since MS refused to answer xbox user's question: if old cd will work into xbox 360.. If not, I feeling waste to buy xbox 360 for nothing.. I acknowledge XBOX 360 is hottie sexy console and controller I got alot of games for my lovely XBOX CONSOLE.... look image from below...

Sablescort, Are you sure about that? Do you think, Will all Xbox backward games capable fully play on the new Xbox 360? If Yes, How do you know All xbox game software backwards compatibly will play on the new Xbox 360? Like Dextreme said of quote: "If that is so, please back up your words with more details and some linky." I want to make sure about All game software will be backwards compatible with xbox 360 console system and I would be relieve and buy it for keep real.. big smile..

NOTE: I never saying that you are full of bulliar! ;) .... Eve though, as always in my mind: I deeply wondered and wanted to know about IF All backwards compatible Xbox game software will be play on the new Xbox 360!?

I real hope so!!!!

Thank sablescort....

well they are discs aren't they?...so a machine can read about any discs that are licensed and labled by the same company which the discs should be played on by anything that relates to the company's machine, etc...

just like Playstation 2 can play Playstation games...but Playstation can't play Playstation 2 games...that would be fucked up, right? of course it would lol

I was busy with my lovely baby when he need me.. I am not here to having cold shoulder around you... anyway.. Steel, I MUST admit you , I never have own PS nor PS2 in my whole life since [little topic off]:I despited sony's products already. But especially, I had owned sony handycam (Video Camera)...

back that topic, You are right that discs are discs.. PS2 can play ps games that I heard the words from my friends who crazy about ps things which capable backwards games can play on ps2.. but I am not sure about XBOX 360 can play xbox games soffware backwards compatible!!? Since MS's dvd/ cd rom's len is more totally different from pc cd rom or dvd rom.. Like you said that PS2 can play ps games. even though, xbox 360's dvd rom 's len will be different from original xbox. dvd rom's len certainly changed itself for read cd games.. since xbox had been hacked already.. xbox 360 would be more prevent it from hacker [xbox modded]. that why I am about not sure if xbox 360 would fully capabling play XBOX the backward games compatible....

I hope that the original xbox games be backward compatible play on xbox 360!

Yea u got good point, Magatsu. I agreed it. Well, I can wait to see consult from non-Sony/M$ better. ^_^

There has been rumors that Sega's next Virtua Fighter will be under development for Xbox 360.

if that's the case, then that's pretty cool.

I can't help but think that Xbox360 has got to be the ugliest looking console I've ever seen... *sigh*

But still, I'm pretty excited about the games coming to Xbox360 including DOA4, Quake 4 and even Perfect Dark. ;)

Heh, I would to say likely, "Yes & No" #1, why I said yes? Its fuck ugly! #2, why I said no? It enable to custom on the case from outside as accordly to cell phone. ^_^

BINGO!! Xbox 360 will be backward-compatible with Xbox games!

The Xbox 360 Games that have been announced!

Electronic Arts announced its largest commitment in its history to Xbox 360; the key industry publishers are already in development of more than 160 Xbox 360 games; Xbox Live community fast approaching 2 million members; Xbox 360 backward compatible with top-selling Xbox games.

The company also announced Xbox 360 will be backward-compatible with top-selling Xbox games. In addition, more than 160 games are in development for Xbox 360, with 25 to 40 games slated for release this calendar year. All are optimised for high-definition output (720p and 1080i). The following games are among the exciting new titles, many console-exclusives, in development from the biggest names in publishing today. From SOURCE

A Closer Look at Dummy Hardware

As we mentioned in an earlier story, none of the demos at Microsoft's booth were running on working Xbox 360s. Instead, they were all running on development kits based on Apple's Powermac G5.

We did get some time with one of the Xbox 360 shells to take a look at some of the finer details of the console.

The front of the console is quite stylish and definitely exudes an Apple feel. The silver grille on the right side is very reminiscent of the Powermac G5 case that happens to house the current Xbox 360 dev kits:

front.jpg

Cooling is a top priority with the Xbox 360, and Microsoft is particularly sensitive about the power specifications of their box. Details have been very scarce about how much power this thing will use, but Microsoft has said that it will be quieter than the current Xbox.

Vents at the top of the machine help get the airflow that the machine needs to operate reliably.

sidevent.jpg

The right side of the Xbox 360 is all grille.
Note that the rear of the console also has a significant portion of it dedicated to cooling:

back.jpg

The final rear will change, but the positioning of the vents most likely will not.

Microsoft still isn't sure about what ports will be placed on the rear of the machine. For now, we see a custom connector for an external A/V pack, as well as a single Ethernet port and one USB 2.0 port:

The Xbox 360 Wireless Controller

All of the controllers at the show floor were wired models. We originally thought so because they were connected to dev kits rather than Xbox 360s, but it turns out that the 2.4GHz RF controllers do work with the dev kits just fine - Microsoft was probably just worried about eager E3ers making off with a precious Xbox 360 controller.

Upstairs in Microsoft's booth, we were given some play time with the new wireless controller, and once again we were quite impressed. Even with batteries in the unit, the new wireless controller is still smaller and lighter than the current S Controller, which admittedly is a bit on the heavy side.

controller5.jpg

The new controller doesn't feel heavy at all, and was a very natural fit for our hands. Other than the battery pack, the wireless controller is no different than the wired version we played with earlier during the show.

controller6.jpg

The battery pack is visible in the picture below on the underside of the controller:

controller2.jpg

The round 1/8" connector is for the Xbox Live mic/headset, while Microsoft isn't officially stating what the two connectors on the left and right are for, we figure it is related to charging the controller.

controller1.jpg

The top of the controller also features a new connector, once again one that Microsoft is being very quiet about. The button to the right of the connector is a wireless connect button, used to sync up the controller to the Xbox 360.

I hope that new controller have strong rumble and viberate itself..I hope it's best than other wireless controller pads. Because My cordless Logitech controller pad is not good, It sometime not work rumble with viberate.. ;)

BTW: Thank Xestor for you gave site: NVMAX out

Removable Hard Drive and Console Footprint

The removable hard drive was next on our list of things to tinker with:

hdd-attached.jpg

Simply depressing a button and pulling the unit out will release the hard drive, which is apparently designed to be ported around by Xbox 360 users.

hdd.jpg

There was no hard drive in the mockup that we played with, but the cutout for the connector reveals what will most likely be a custom interface to a 2.5" HDD.

The hard drive will be supplied with ample airflow from within the Xbox 360 itself:

hddattach.jpg

Believe it or not, Microsoft didn't have a regular Xbox within reach during our photo session, so we had to resort to using a magazine to convey the size of the new box:

magazine.jpg

Although the specs don't indicate a much smaller box than the current Xbox, the curvature of the design as well as the actual reduction in dimensions results in a much more sleek looking unit.
