In the 1970s the price of gas was $0.36 till price increased under $1 because reason of oil crisis from Arab countries.
Yes, I remmy Oil Crisis back in 1973. I was with my dad when we went to line up for gas. I can't remember exactly the price of gas but yes it was less than $1.

And in the 50's you got your oil checked and window cleaned and the gas was pumped for you too! You did not have to pay more for this service , how we to pay extra to for it! I pump my own gas!

Me too. I paid 1.03 a galln in 2001 once. It only cost me 12 bucks to fill up my old Honda.

Olden day service still around. Sinclair Gas station in Mission, KS still have full service. Owner been running his biz for 52 years.

I have not seen a Sinclair Gas in many moons! I forgot about them!
Some gas stations don't allow you to fill your own tank due to state or local law, such as Oregon. Not quite "full-service."
