Some people say they are the same some say they are not...

Please discuss.

Oh, I have one!!

A hillbilly will make their own alcohol (moonshine)

A redneck would buy it from the store.

Hillbillies originates, from the Mountains (Appalachians) Living in the Hills

Rednecks are people that are farmers that gets sunburns on their necks. Hence the name Rednecks.

But some say that they have cultural differences.

haha i will say rednecks usually into fixing trucks while hillbillies sing. It just came to my mind.

I always thought Rednecks lived in the country while Hillbillies lived in the mountains?

Hillbillies: Old time rednecks.

Rednecks: Modern day hillbillies.

Same people, different generation. LOL

I guess that these two groups are part of junky families.

Hillbillies live in the far in the country especially deep woods, and perhaps they are friendly.
Rednecks set up their Confederate Flag in the public, and some are racists.

Jeff Foxworthy

I would say Jeff is the wrong one to be asked to define between hillbillies/rednecks. He and his family lives in a very affluent suburb in Atlanta's northern suburbs, where all the rich yanks live. :)

The hillbillies reminds me of the "The Beverly Hillbillies" television series years ago. It was a great program to watch on TV. :)

I wonder if there is "The Redneck" television series.
