Great! I agree with Dark. I must listen from NAD s president and iDeaf News reports. I don't believe Sorenson s comment letter for FCC.
 
Sorenson VRS sent out a video of the Vice President scaring us to think that VRS will die because of reduced rates. He used a scare tactic to create a panic in the Deaf community. NOT true! VRS will NEVER die! FCC is in 100% support of VRS. National Association of the Deaf just put up a Vlog about the reduced rates and I understand better now.

I am pissed that the Vice President or rather the President of Sorenson VRS himself used this type of scare tactic to scare us all. I felt it was not right! I hope you understand now.

National Association of the Deaf just put up a Vlog about the reduced rates and I understand better now.

SorensonVRS is the only VRS service that did the scare tactic on people, not Purple, not CSDVRS, and not the rest of the VRS providers.

It's unnecessary.

I do see that scare tactic, but if Sorenson couldn't take that adopt rate...

Sorenson is large provider that recent increase to 5 percent mean total is 85%

If Sorenson is down, what happen to 85%, it us, that will lead to another VRS. The other VRS wouldn't met the FCC exception due not enough recruit interpreter and not enough equipment in order to keep taking call.

Afterall, it can impact to VRS industry because of Sorenson bucket like a water pour to rest VRS provider.

VRS isn't end but impact...

funny- I doubt its gonna happen- too many people depend on thier number to be available to others. only way is to boycott is not to make any outgoing calls via sorenson, use other vrs's right from thier vp200.
 
SVRS should have not get customers involved in its problems because it cannot manage money or doesn't get enough money when in fact, it's highly profitable.
 
It is shameful of the Sorenson VRS to choose a scare tactic instead of using a more proper, better and useful approach to Deaf people as they know they can take advantage of their gullibility.

I have met Ron Burdett and he is a smooth talker and charmer that easily sway them from the true issues.
 
If your employer or government cut your salary or SSI by 40%, you all would be panicking too.

Negotiation of new rates of any product normally happen behind the scenes, seller to buyer. This situation adds a 3rd party, check writer who isn't customer, using public $ so process is public. Now customer must accept product that check-writer say they can afford. That is why deaf users must have voice in negotiation. Seller still can say, i can do this much for that money. For this much money, i can do this other product. Thats why important customer talks to check-writer. Yes SVRS employees all want keep their jobs, but most will find other jobs. Can still use same phone tech.
AllVRS companies know all rates will be cut July 1. Trying to find balance between fair rate and breaking even on every call or worse lose money. Profits tell company "customers like our product. Want us to continue business." No profit means "This is bad business. Customers don't like what we sell." Profits are what company puts back in business to pay for things that FCC don't care about. Like interpreters waiting to take next call so customer don't wait. Like breaks for interpreters so they not burn out. Research and development for better tech. Interpreter training for best quality interpreter. VRS work has led to greatest increase of number of certified interpreters since start of RID. Ask RID. They know it is true.

The rates that the FCC is proposing will drive Sorenson, the leading provider of VRS, into bankruptcy. The FCC proposes to compensate Sorenson $3.89 per minute, while paying all other providers more than $5.77 per minute. Sorenson's real costs are nearly $6 per minute

Therefore, I would guess it's probably 5 to 6 million minutes per MONTH?

The current, all VRS earn $6.13/minutes which was last time I hear from June 2007.

My VP-200 has been gathering dust because I don't use it much. I don't use it much because I refuse to support such a greedy company who feels the needs to resort to scare tactics.
 
There is no reimbrushment for Deaf to Deaf calls, meaning no VRS providers is getting paid for Deaf to Deaf calls. Thats pure losses that VRS provider had to absorb.

VRS providers gets paid WHEN Deaf or Hearing making a call to another Hearing or Deaf THOUGH VRS.

When you make a call to hearing person, There is no payment UNTIL the hearing person on other party answer your call. The minutes stops as soon as either of you or Hearing person hangs up.

I never said 200,000 terps. I said 200,000 deaf
