I just found out why VP-100 is picky with what routers will work smoothly. The Microsoft Netmeeting does the same thing with what routers will work smoothly, too. They both use the Netmeeting protocol which causes problems with compability with routers. I wish they use mpeg or a more generic protocol so it will work on most routers than select routers.

I think Netmeeting is a joke and doesn't even have a Mac version since it released back in Windows 95 days.

I hope the VP-200 will not use the Netmeeting protocol and use something better and more compatible one.

Please discuss

Linksys router once was work great UNTIL Cisco corp bought Linksys, decided to eliminate H.232 protocol which was intended for Videophone!!! I contact them they said they don't feel its necessary to have this eat up the resource in the router. WTF? personally I prefer Linksys router over Dlink. I also found out that Buffalo router works great, but they are pricey.

I do also prefer linksys routers, too. Too bad they don't work well with VP. I hate those unreliable D-link routers, blah. I believe they removed the H 232 protocol because of cost....which is pretty stripped up stupid.

Write the complaint letter to Linksys Corporation. Don't forget to give this link so that they may be embrassed for neglecting the setting for videophones for the deaf consumers....

Good idea, I could e-mail to Linksys corporation about that issue.

Belkin Router works great on VP100 too. I have 2 1/2 years old Belkin 54G wireless router w/ 4 ports on rear. My friend bought the most recent Belkin (fast wireless) MIMO router w/ 4 rear ports and I helped him to set it up. It works fine on his VP100. Belkin 54G router at Walmart is cheap $35 but Belkin Wireless MIMO cost $54.

I have webcam w/ Sorenson Envision SL. I was unable to receive calls but can call to friend's VP100 using IP address. VP tech told me to go in Router's Virtual Server setup. The UDP and TCP selection is there but there is no "BOTH" in there. My router is out of date. UGGH! I give up. There's no firmware update for my old router shoot!! Newer router have those. I guess I have to wait till I have $$'s to buy new one probably Belkin again. It DOES have H232 protocol for videochat
