NECA rates

All VRS providers may be getting a reduced reimbursement rate from the NECA fund.

The proposed rate for VRS is $5.92/minute, so it may hurt all VRS providers, so we will see what happens next.

NECA's final decisions rarely follow the recommended rates, if you look at their historical data. In fact, the $5.92 recommended rate for VRS for 2005-2006 could end up being MUCH lower or higher in the final decision for the year.

$5.92 a min is ALOT money, more than enough to cover asses for VRS. I think at the start up, the expeses usually higher and now that vrs has settled with equipment. The more volume calls VRS makes or more traffic on internet access, the lower the cost they would pay. "Wholesale" cost is now in effect for them. So, won't impact them much anyway.

this downward trend is the same for traditional relay services when it was first launched. i aint surprised that NECA is paying $6.644/min for VRS calls.

richard - you still uneducated in the TRS industry

Kim Robinson was the president of new Zealand Assn Deaf.

And as for 'dreamland' my grandfather and my dad worked there in some point of their military careers. In as much as I'd love to, I've never been a part of dreamland.

Richard, stop confounding things. I seriously doubt anyone in your family worked at "Area 51."

So, tell us, what role did you have in working with Kim Robinson?

NZ Relay Service

Hi everyone,

Just to clarify a few things here...

Richard only provided some ADA information relating to the Human Rights case for a NZ Relay Service.

A majority of the Relay Information and support came from Australia and numerous individuals internationally that supported the establishment of the Relay Service case in NZ.

Victoria Manning and myself spearheaded the Human Rights Campaign.

To be fair to everyone. There is no one due credit to one individual. The credit goes to everyone who assisted to many ways to see such a service here whether it was a small amount or a large amount.

I am not the the President of Deaf Assn of NZ, I was only on their Executive Board at that time.

I would prefer it if people discontinue the personal insults on each other and get realistic about working together sharing information - technical data - advocating and improving communities Internationally.

Personal insults burns communities and individuals, so please consider this when arguing points in a discussion...

Kim

I am very thrilled to read this message. I am with you 100% when it comes to working together. However, Richard is been a friction almost everywhere for a long time and insulted many folks in AD and other facets of Internet.

This is the proof that Richard isnt 100% accurate (example you re not the prez of NZ Association for the Deaf when he said that you were). I can say being on safe side, that he isnt accurate elsewhere.

Thanks for clarification.
