Hi,
I am hearing. I am looking for someone who is deaf who homeschools. I need tips and advice. Thank you.

I do not know any d/Deaf parent who homeschools. Many d/Deaf parents I know prefer to send their deaf kids to deaf schools because of full accessibility. Full exposure is a vital to a deaf peer's needs.

I do not know what your deaf child's age, hearing loss level, and case are. If homeschool a deaf peer along with hearing peers who do not know ASL. It's a bad approach. A peer needs to interact with peers with ASL skills daily.

Have you contacted your state's School for the Deaf? IMHO, hearing parents need to be VERY careful with homeschooling dhh or other special needs kids, since they are generally not trained TODs. It really does take a village. It's not an attack on homeschooling... My ex friend's mom (who is a terp) said that if her girls had been dhh, she would have sent them to a deaf school, and Nancy was one of those hippie unschooler parents. There are a ton of resources.....and if you're a Christian homeschooler, there are even two Christian Deaf Schools.
