Did you see how messed up the Mama looked at the end? Like a bad hair day? lol
 
Dang.. even the strongest wind can knock off a mama duck and her ducklings.. .but wow... still, cute ducklings!!
 
LOL! I think it's funny and cute!! Especially how messed up the mother is. LOL.
 
Yeah, Mamma really got her feathers ruffled up!...Bet she was quacking to her babies...."I just combed ur feathers! Look at all of you"!...."smack!"...get ur hinnies on down to the river!"
 
It is a wonder that it appears there's no broken wings or other bones.....
 
I was going to see a client of mine and happen to see a family of duck trying to cross a street. The sidewalk was too high for some some of the baby ducks and they kept falling over! The mother duck was getting away ahead of the babies, so I helped the babies up onto the sidewalk! The mother duck was just about to walk into the traffic with her babies following her and I ran out into the street to stops the cars! Here I was dressed as a health aid stopping traffic! The ducks made it safely to the river and I was a little late getting to my client ,but she was not upset when I told why I was late! The poor babies duck would had never been able to climb up the sidewalk curb, it was really a big step up! I was glad I was there as no one else was around to help the ducks!
 
Thank you for saving these little ducklings. They are mallards; the male is known as a drake and the female is a hen. Hopefully these ducklings will grow to be the next generation to breed wild mallards for waterfowl hunting.
