Refinancing?

Our house mortgage is so high and we would like to refinance but do we have to live at our house for a certain length of time before we can do that? We keep getting a lot of offers in the mail to refinance our house and it looks so tempting but I think it is too soon. Anyone have any suggestions or experiences to share? Tips?

What is your internet...

Right now Avg. 5.3 percent * depend on State* so If your internet with too high than 5.3 then go for it?

Shel,

My advice in these troubled times, is to stay where you are now. Getting a new refinanced mortgage, while it can lower your payments and interest paid.

It can also have a reverse effect. You could actually end up paying more than you are now in the long run. It could add points to your mortgage.

Right now, you can afford your mortgage, in this unstable economy, with jobs laying off, I would be very very very weary of messing with my mortgage.

Just my .02 cents.

Blame it to President Bush -- He's the one who destroyed the economy.

Interest Rates follows U.S. 10 years bonds. If the 10 years bonds goes down, the interest rates goes downs.

Right now if you check the 10 years bonds on the stocks, you will notice it has gone done since Thursday. Good chance to take opportunity to refinance. Who knows when will it go up again.

If we can reduce our mortgage by 300 to 400 a month, my husband can quit his 2nd job! That would be so great!

Nah..he can help me with the household chores!!! I am tired of picking up the dog poop, doing laundry, taking care of kids, dinner, food shopping, mowing the grass, fixing the house, and all that all by myself!!! LOL! Then I can have more energy for some fun in the room. Hahahaha!

I think he done a great job with what he knew and did his best. It is not president's fault what economy does, it just goes in cycles and it involves everybody. It mostly rests on people and companies. If you really want to blame someone, a good one would be thoes that gave out loans that people really cannot afford.

Blame bad evil Brokers!!! Brokers have broke the law when they give out loans to the clients that they knew cannot afford the loan... its a law. Recently passed in many states. If you got a bad loan after Aug 1st 2007... then you can check with your lawyer to see if it true. Very hard to beat that challenge nowaday.

And my father is a retired CEO banker of Bank of America and Citibanker. He is currently 68 years old and mentioned that economy recession has happened 4 time in his life time regardless of what president republican or democrat ran in office.
