I have a coin jar in my home. When I see the commercials for saving money, I think "I am already saving money in my coin jar". I coinstar the jar every few months.

Right. Good choice.
I put all my unvalveable coins into my savings to earn interests. And I also collect coins that are valve and worth in the future. My father in law does coins too. Have you ever get lucky to find an 'S' on some coins. I did get lucky at times. I also collect coins from other countries when they visit the hotel where I work. I collect almost everyday. They will create new quaters soon. It will be my next collection as well.

My coin jar is almost full..soon it will be time to "Coinstar" it.
BOA has a program in which u save money using "change" from the checking accounts. I should do that as well. Good luck, Sue in saving enough coins to pay for you trip!

I have an old pill bottle that holds approximately 53 to 55 pennies.
Whenever it's full, I know there's over 50 pennies. So, I count them and roll them up. The next time I go to the bank, I take those rolls with me and exchange them for quarters. I have a couple metal bottles that's big enough to hold dollar coins and quarters. At the end of the day, I empty my pockets. Pennies go in the little pill bottle. Quarters go on one metal bottle. Dollar coins go in the other metal bottle. Dimes and nickels? I just put them back in my pocket and spend them whenever possible. Now, I have at least $50 in quarters.

My dad saves silvers to build up, uses it for things that he would want so bad or get something special for my mom.
He hates pennies so he saves them for me. I throw them in my big 1 gallon cranberry juice jug. I am trying to see if I can get that jug filled to the top so I can see how much it can hold. I am going to save it so I can use it to pay something off like hospital bills or get something that I need or a vacation. |

Just FYI - my cousin did that (had some kind jar or container with change in his car) - and someone broke his car window to get it. The window cost like over $500 to replace (tinted, etc)...that jar of change became very ...expensive!
