We usually have a set time during the week to wake up and eat breakfast before they go to school. On weekends, they are allowed to sleep a little later. So yes, I do wake them up if they have not goten up themselves.

Since I home school, my kids sleep as long as they want. Son usually gets up with mother and me and I fix breakfast. Daughter will sleep until noon or 1 and have breakfast at lunchtime.

It is funny.. My kids smell the bacon or sausage cooking they pop out from the dead and walk to the kitchen. Nothing like the smell of good breakfast cooking to wake my kids up.
I do prefer all 4 of my kids to eat at the same time so we can clean up the kitchen at once and get it over with. They can go back to bed after breakfast, if we do not have an outing planned for the day. |
