Pregnant and smokers

At workplace, I was caught one pregnant employee at parking lot when she was smoking alot, she's customer service supervisor and her baby is due soon. I was asked few other co-workers about more risk on smoking for pregnant woman, I told her that smoking would can affect newborn, possibility to cause birth defect or health issue at early child then she said don't care about everything. I was just ugh at her and left away from her.

I had found some warning about smoking during pregnant are very bad, it does same about what learn at high school.

How are you feeling if you see pregnant women are still smoking during pregnant time?

I wouldn't like it either, I started smoking 5 years after my first son was born, when I was pregnant with my second child, I quit smoking and did not smoke the entire pregnancy because he was in me, I knew the risks so I decide not to.

Some people think that pregnant women who smoke are a huge turn-on... for me, it's a huge turn-off.

I don't understand why they drink and smoke when they're pregnant... they should be charged with endangering their unborn baby's life!

Let you know, they found out that a women that quites cold turkey have worse effects on the baby then smoking normally. Also, docs tell women to cut back on the cigs. Try to smoke less and stop too the end of it, but never to quite cold turkey.

Reason why, as the mother going through the withdraws from the cigs, it affects the baby as well. If the mother takes it a step at a time, then it be better on the baby. Also, if the mother is a heavy smoker, then, yes, the baby is in danger too.

I agree. They should be charged with child abuse.

Yep, totally agree, I got tired of dating smoker it not a turn on for me. My mother just finally quit smoking for 2 weeks hopefully she keep her promise not to smoke. Lot of women who smoke while pregnant should know better that i can do lot of harm to an unborn baby that can result in birth defects. Even drugs do lot of damage.

deviantART Search: smoking pregnant

That what I see them commonly when I ramdonly searched for my own interests as kingdom hearts, passions, sailor uranus, etc etc..

I am positive that is pretty offensive to unborn babies because some of them considered unborn babies as non-existence.. Gee!

I remember hearing a report about how pregnant women would deliberately smoke even though they knew the risks of harming their baby. They said smoking whilst pregnant made labor easier, because the baby is smaller.

Smoking while pregnant still wrong because that can do more harm on the baby's health and the lungs. SMoking is very serious. Even women I know did drugs while pregnant make it worst for the unborn baby and can do lot of damage.

Why choose to be a mother in the first place if they continued to smoke or drink as well take illegal drugs???

It annoys me so.

I have this friend who used Marijuana during her pregnancy and she said the baby was fine. She was stoned on the day of the birth and practically slept through the childbirth!

I wonder if the baby has already been impacted but it's not shown yet.

I agree it is wrong, especially when the mother knows she is putting her child's health at risk. Here is a list of how smoking affects babies: HOW SMOKING HARMS BABIES

I agree with all of your posts here.

My Grandma, mother & sister smoked during all of their pregnancies. I have seen my friends who smoke during pregnancies but it's not my place to judge them because they are adult and must have known that smoke is bad for health and harm baby. Surprised, all of babies they smoked during pregnancies turn to health adults.

I am the one in the family who don't smoke during 2 pregnancies.

My dad was a 3 pack a day Camel Cigarett smoker!
I remember being 4 and 5 and older, standing behind
his seat in the car, (no car seats either) and I would
deliberately inhale his smoke. I was a second hand
smoker for many years. I never took up smoking on
my own, partially due to good education in our high
school and partially due to the fact that I like to eat
out and one can not afford to do both! lol
The result is that as an adult, I only have 75% of my
normal lung capacity and I am prone to asthma attacks.
The funny thing is, I still CRAVE the smell of cigaret smoke.
(My dad died at the age of 47 with lung cancer) Sad but
these are the consequences of his selfish act.

Even though I am smoker, I would never support a mother smoking during the pregnancy.

My mom was used to smoke during my brother was in her stomach, and my brother got a asthma because of her. I see that as abusive. But thank god, his asthma is gone now.

It's just that the baby have nothing to blame on, plus the baby have very small lung and are very sensitive to the air enviroments, no wonder they get sick many times..

*sigh* Glad my mom don't smoke during I was in her stomach.

marijuana cause cadmium poisoning which her baby or her would possible have organisms break down
