If, I am in pioneer days - I would love to have more children if, my health could stand to have that many. In pioneer days, there's alot more fun than today as I would imagine. *chuckles* You know with a few "wood" houses on the prairies ( huge pasture with a few small hills and with yellow dallions -- ohhh I love those kind of things ). I think it would be soo awesome to see children roamin' all over the prairies with joy. A sense of freedom and stress-free environment.

Er...I hope you know why the pioneers typically had so many children. Many children died young due to illnesses and diseases. It was a fact of life. Worst yet, too many of these women bearing the children died as well. Child bearing is a hazardous business...something that most of us forget (given today's medicine). Just go to any old gravesite and you can see this clearly.

Back to the main thread...
Going back to the original topic, the number of children is really up to the people having them. There is no "magic" number. Some people are well suited to having 5 or 6 or more whereas others should only consider 1 or 2. It is unfortunate that some people have no sense in controlling this aspect of their life and thus inviting condemnation (as I have noted in earlier comments).

Oh, yeah I know. You could be right. It is just a way of sayin' what I like about havin'. I know that there's no turnin' back in old days. Each day is always goin' forward as the time is tickin'. But, thanks for sharin' your point of view.

2 or 3 is really enough. Zero makes you feel good yourself.
