Wondering if anyone has experience or advice:

I'm almost 26, scheduled for a cochlear implant November 1st. I have menieres disease. Since my diagnosis, I gave up on wanting to carry children. I'm not bitter or mad about this - I'm not interested in carrying a child, but I do want to be a mom in the future. I have also been dating a great guy for 3 years - we talk realistically about the future, are currently looking to buy our first house, and know we will probably get married, although we are not yet engaged. I've sort of mentioned that I want to adopt in the past but today was the BIGGEST conversation we've ever had about birth/surrogacy/adoption. He REALLY wants to have a biological child. I've never thought it was an option after knowing that it could be 9 months of vertigo not including the horrible hormone-induced vertigo during post-partum. I'd rather be a great mom with less vertigo than have bad vertigo and the pride in having carried a baby.

After finding out that cochlear implants really help with vertigo with MD, I'm wondering if after a second implant if I decide to when my left HA craps out pregnancy might be something I had never considered but might be realistic.

Anyone have experience as an implanted pregnant & hormonal Menieres Disease lady?

well guess what? we did have a user who was pregnant at the time and started to lose all of her hearing after the birth to twins! (I think you might see her popping up once she gets back on here!)

I'd love to know what she thinks about it. I know CIs are never a "cure" to anything but many have told me it helps with the balance problems a lot... I hope her babies are doing well - how exciting to have two!!
