Don't let your deafness hold you back. If you can hear and feel music, then you should be able to do fine.

I luuvvvvv listening to music, all sort. I can hear music very well with my hearing aid on but not what it singing about fully. I can pick out some chorus and some easy singing. If I want to know what it singing about, I just look up on the internet for the song lyrics and follow it.
![]() Yay! Bring on the music!! <---- except for the headphone which I can't wear. lol

Why would music hold you back? I love music and play it at every opportunity, thank goodness I have no neighbours either side of me !!!
Use the likes of Beethoven, Evelyn Glennie etc to be your inspiration to reach your goal wiggle Bumpsy

I am weird...I can hear music just fine but I don't like it. I never liked music. With the radio in the car, I listen to NPR talk radio all the time. I have an iPod and I keep all my music on it but I just don't use it much.

I love music and I honestly wish I could sing good enough to be a star. I am a big fan of Darren Hayes. AWESOME voice. I did a solo once after I was caught singing 'Hold Me' on the sound system. A woman came in and said you're good, you should do a solo. So I did, I got good reviews. I need some voice lessons though. I am hoh but hey ya never know maybe American Idol should get its first deaf competitor.

I'm a huge fan of pop/rock music from the 70's and 80's. Pre-CI when I had severe-profound hearing loss, I used to listen to music using headphones or direct audio input through my hearing aids. Although I couldn't understand song lyrics, I could still hear drumbeats or male singers depending on the amount of overlapping keyboards/instrumentals, etc. Now that I have CIs, I find myself listening to unfamiliar kinds of music as well as smooth jazz and classical. As for playing instruments, I used to play the violin, viola, piano and flute. I also used to sing in the advanced choir. This was all during the time I had moderately-severe hearing loss. Since getting my first CI in 2004 to the present I've been taking private voice lessons which I thoroughly enjoy. I can't imagine my life without music. It means everything to me.
