I would hire an investigator maybe you would get further by him helping out. If you were adopted, I would call social services they could maybe further your findings. Other than that, I am not quite sure.

Try your state (or county) dept. of health. They should be able to help you with this.

You can go your place hospital where you born. You drive or walk enter to front the clerk office. You want tell them you need get your information medical history hospital. They will tell you MUST REQUIRED Birth Cert., Drive License and SS card! after that you must wait. They processing the clerk about your medical hospital. They will send you a letter. What do? You REQUIRED signuature your name under your doctor. The Doctor approved and signuature it. Let Doctor decided it.

In 1992, I called many times record my medical history in hospital. It not helped nothing!! They wont give me inform my medical history. I drove 2 hrs other city and argued the clerk office in hospital. They asked me need drive license and SS card and etc. They said will send a letter to me. I told them I can't wait get my record medical history in hospital. They said first ask my doctor if he can approved or not?
I was very patient blah! I waited for 2 months. They send a me letter and need signature for my doctor. I send it back them. I waited and waited for 2 months. Again,They send me a letter. They said copies paper cost me $43.00 dollars. GASPED!! I upset it!!! I accepted it pay check and send it there. I WAITED AND WAITED 1 months. In Feb 1994, FINALLY, I got medical record history. GUESS WHAT! I can't believe that 300 pages! My parent hided me about my medical history in my hospital. I can't say share everything my personal. Whoa! I not gave up for 2 yrs. FINALLY PEACE!

I warning you what you called. It not HELP NOTHING! You can go clerk front office in hospital.

Dept of Human it not help nothing! It not related.

If you said hire an investigator then Fee cost!!! over $700.00 or more depend how long? I did called hired an investigator and told me cost $700.00. DROP IT!!!

you can go Court house and find information there and you can give them your SS card. They will pull your information where born place and etc!

Keep Stand UP!!! You would be patient WAIT WAIT WAIT HOW LONG?? 1 yrs or 2 yrs.

Contact your birth doctor, if s/he is still practicing. If you records are like mine, only the doctor's notes saying, "Mother and baby are fine" would be insufficient. I wanted to know why I was born with a slightly deformed left hand and there are no doctor's notes. None!

ACTUALLY... it is pretty easy. And you don't talk to the hospital or any doctors at all.

Go to this webpage: http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/howto/w2w/w2welcom.htm

There you will click on the state where you were born. It will tell you how to contact the government. The government is who keeps the records...not the hospital. The webpage also tells you how much it costs, most states will charge you about $5 to look up your record and mail it to you.

EDIT: Wait, I'm sorry, you wanted medical records, not a birth certificate. The info I gave you is for getting a birth certificate. For medical records... I don't know, sorry.
