A Gesture of Kindness

Please feel free to post any pix you've found or share any stories you've heard about kindness toward stranger. Please do also feel free to share a story that you helping out a stranger.

I think we could use a break from some mudslinging/fingerpointing/blaming farce. none of that nonsense.

Description: "tF mission: To be an open network of members with a common goal; to impact positive change in our community by supporting local charities/ activities; and promote awareness amongst our neighbors and peers." Awards: Aids Walk 2010 Top Ten Team
This is something my friend -G has done, she gets me involved. I've done "Coats for Kids" twice. I've joined in the in the Aids Walk and the Slut Walk. I always joke with her that she is insistent on making me exercise.
But her contributions far outweigh the few I've mentioned!!! She wouldn't think so, but she's done a lot to give back!!!!!
Handing out blankets and care packets to the homeless during the winter.
(One of her posts-Things are coming together nicely for Tis the Season, we have enough bread, toothbrushes, meat and water, we have about half the gloves and some fruit!! way to go, almost there!! -g)
Valentine's Day cards to the children in hospitals, we just made them. She delivered them to the radio station. But she made the effort so we'd get it done.
(G- 87 cards are ready to be sent off tomorrow. thank you for participating -tF)
This is just a small look at what she does!!
She's an awesome lady!!!! But glad she doesn't know I'm bragging on her!!!! Like most, she's humble!!! I love her!!!!

This has just come on uk tv, i gather apart from driver there was another adult on the bus who sat there doing nothing to help her...i worked at local east end police station i dealt with any deaf youngsters, special needs in the end anyone under 16 who parents refused to come to police station which was alot. i have to say on there own they were ok in fact sitting with them 6hrs or more i showed them some signs and many were very intrested and asking questions but then i had alot of training and could defuse a situation like this, this poor lady could not..i no understand why these little rats have face blanked out i would thought they lost the right to have their identity covered up...i hope enough money is raised that she no need to go back to that job and can live rest of her life in peace, and bullies get what they deserve let bullies the world over see their actions and for once the victim comes out on top and vicious kids like this do not.

I make a habit of paying an extra $5-$20 at any fast food drive thru for the people behind me.

My daughter will go to the homes of the older people in our neighborhood and help them with their garbage, yard work, or lawn decorating for the holidays. She also had been making sure that any loose dogs were returned to the owners. Now she won't do that as someone threw her generosity in her face this morning.

Ouch. That hurt when someone do that to your daughter. My guess is that she would have ask the person or people if he/she/they need help in their yards or homes. It is polite to ask the person first before your daughter help her/him. Then she will get generosity for doing the kindness of helping people. There are some others who don't want help from your daughter. So ask first, please. It is better this way. I do hope she can continue to help them if she wants but please ask first.

It wasn't the ones she was helping with the yards that got to her. She was returning a dog this morning and they basically accused her of stealing the dog. They were ready to call the police until another neighbor stepped in. Daughter finished off by telling them that she always did this out of kindness, but they have ruined it for her and she will never lead another dog home, she will call animal control.

Oh, that hurt when that they accused her of stealing their dog. I am sorry. Geeze, those people jumped to their conclusions without thinking. I am glad the neighbor stepped in. Yeah, forget about the dogs. I don't know about animal control. I don't want to think of dogs going to the pound as they will not have the chance to be save or able to put in a foster home or ready home. I know it is difficult when it comes to that. It is a bummer situation. **sigh**

My niece is in Africa right now. Her and a group of medical students are there providing help to the very, very poor. I am following her blog and it saddens me deeply how these people live. She wrote about three very young boys who have been in the hospital for months. All have broken legs that have not been repaired due to the lack of money from their families. So now their poor little legs will be deformed. The fee to repair their little legs, only $16 US. That is what most of us spend on a lunch for two. She will be home in 7 days!! I admire their strength and compassion to go into these conditions and offer help.

Even animals are showing kindness to other animals or humans by helping them.

Don't poke fun at the monkey business, but it is a good example of what we see that are really thoughtful and kindness. The young monkey did good with the baby tiger. Not bad.

I don't know if anyone watches the TV show The Secret Millionaire, or something like that. But there was an episode a few weeks back where the millionaire met a man who helps the homeless living on the street. He collects toiletries, clothes, and shoes, and during the show, gave a pair of shoes off his own feet to an elderly man. Made me cry. What a generous, kind soul.
