Just take good care of him, give him extra love, maybe some treats every once in a while. Recently the vet told us our dog might have a tumor in his eye, and we couldnt imagine being able to pay to have the eye removed. Luckily it's just scar tissue from being scratched by a cat.
And when our dog was diagnosed with diabetes, we thought she would pass quickly, because she also has other issues. She's getting pretty old, and my mom thinks she may have a year left, maybe a year and a half. It's hard to lose an animal, or to have something wrong with them, especially when they're your best friend.
I'm really sorry about Finaly. Just try to stay strong!
That's a really great idea about the cremation thing, too. I also heard (I don't know if you're interested or not), that you can take hair or ashes and have them turned into jewerly. I thought that was a cool idea.
