My baby, Anita, she a Pomeranian, has had accidents like this before....

Even tho' I've taken her out before bed time....so what I do is take the water away after 8 or 9PM...and take her out around 11 or 12AM, and let her do her business outside.

Sometimes she gets excited about something outside and "forgets" to pee pee.....so at times it's takes longer.

I do scold her for peeing on my bed and having to wash everything....dogs don't like to be scolded! They want praise...so usually this works. My dog has never peed on my bed again.

Even people at times wake up during the night, having to go to the bathroom. With dogs, they depend on the owner to "take them out"...and if ur asleep, they've no way of waking you up, or barking "I've got to pee"!

sorry to hear, sara. even a child has accidents now and then. I recommend you to use plastic waterproof mattress cover. it's available at any store like Target, Costco, Wal-Mart, etc for like $10-20. It will protect your mattress from spill and bedbugs.

We bought a new pillow last week, because one of our dogs got so excited he peed on it.

He is our new rescue Pekingese and not used to our home yet. Your dog is a puppy and she will get better. Just take her our as often as you can and try to watch to make sure she really does pee when she is outside.

Good luck!

When I was a health aid one of mt client told me about one her dog taking a shit on her new bedspread that cost over a $100! And the dog took the shit right in the middle of the bedspread!
My dog did have an accident and shit on my bed! I was not mad at him
as he was not feeling good!
I had a worst thing happen to my bed ! I had to leave one of my dog home alone so I brought her a nice big soup bone to keep her happy when I was out! When I got home later in the day , I had a big surprise waiting for me! My dog told me just what she thought of being left alone , she made a huge hole right in the middle of my mattress and put her bone in it!! She told me to take my bone and shove it! Damn I loved that dog!

My dog isnt allowed upstairs cuz for some reason, she starts peeing all over the carpet like crazy as soon as she is up there. We have carpet upstairs and wooden floor downstairs. She wont pee on hard surfaces. If there is a rug here on the 1st floor, she would pee on it so we trained her not to but had no luck training her not to pee on the carpet upstairs so we trained her not to go upstairs.

She has never slept with us due to our bedroom being upstairs but my daughter's room is on the first floor and she has slept on the bed.No problems there.

We do not allow our dogs on our beds or our furniture. They have their own fluffy pillows from PetSmart and their crate that they sleep in at night. When they were a little younger and still being house trained, they used to either pee the bed while they slept or they'd pee on their bed because they thought it was OK as they were not peeing on the floor. My dad thought he'd be a genius and throw the beds in javex and water to get the smell of pee off it (so that they'd stop thinking that's where they needed to pee). It worked, but the beds are disgusting smelling because Javex and dog hair is a weird mix of smells.

Once when my little sister had a sleepover, one of her friends locked the door to the basement and shut out one of our cats so she couldn't pee in the kitty litter.

She peed in my bed instead.

Sometime my dog goes out to do his business then in the middle of the night, he pooped on my floor. Of course that woke me up cuz of the smell. I have a strong sense of smell when the dog pooped on my floor. Thanks goodness it is not a carpet, just vinyl wood flooring.

When my Lab peed on my bed after knowing better not to (he was housebroken) I spanked his tail all the way outside and left him outside for about 2 hours while I got the mess cleaned up. I caught him in the act of it and he never did it again because he knew "mama" was coming after him.

But as a puppy I would yell "NO!" then lead him outside to do his buisness, when he finished his buisness out there I would praise him with a good head pat. When I first brought him home, I was taking him out ever 15-20 mins, then it got to the point I could do it after training, after meal time, after I got home from work, just made it a habit to use it as a "transition" from one thing to another. By 6 months of age he was completely potty trained except for the one incident. On top of all that, his space was limited to the floor and the crate. No getting up on furniture. He knew his place was below me. Best damn dog I ever had, but I had to give him up in 2006 as I got in a financial bind.
