CCTV and commentary.Puppy survives after boy accidentally flushes him down the toilet while washing him

A week-old puppy was recovering today after he was accidentally flushed down the toilet.

The tiny cocker spaniel was trapped in a waste pipe for nearly four hours after Daniel Blair, four, decided he 'needed a wash' and put him in a toilet before pulling the chain.

Amid frantic atte More..mpts to rescue the pet, a drainage company had to be called in after firefighters and the RSPCA failed to free him.

Eventually, using specialist camera gear, the firm managed to locate the puppy who was stuck some 20 yards from the house.

Trapped: The puppy was nudged along the pipe to a manhole with the camera until he could be grabbed by a firefighter

He was then gently nudged towards a manhole cover before being plucked to safety.

The dog has since been named Dyno after his rescuers Dyno-Rod, the drainage firm who came to his rescue.

His ordeal began after Daniel's twin brother Nicky took him out for a walk in the garden of their house in Northolt, Middlesex.

Their mother Alison, 40, told the Daily Mirror: 'Daniel told me it had got muddy so they put it in the toilet and pulled the chain to give it a wash.

'I ran to the bathroom but the dog was nowhere to be seen. I assumed it was dead. I went into the garden, managed to lift up the drain cover and was amazed to hear him crying.'

Ordeal: Daniel Blair, 4, pictured with Dyno-Rod engineer Will Craig and Dyno the puppy, accidentally flushed his pet down the toilet after trying to give him a wash

Dyno-Rod worker Will Craig, 22, from Harrow, was called in and initially thought it was some kind of prank.

After arriving at the scene, he used specialist camera equipment to find the dog and nudge him towards a manhole cover and safety.

He said: 'At first I didn't want to do it because I was scared of hurting the dog. But the RSPCA said I was his only hope.

'Eventually I pushed him far enough for the firemen to grab.'

Lucky escape: Dyno was carried into the pipe from the toilet, before eventually being rescued through a manhole cover in front of a neighbouring house

Onlookers broke into cheers after the rescue was completed, he added.

Daniel said he was 'so, so sorry' after flushing Dyno down the toilet. 'I won't do it again,' he added.By Daily Mail Reporter

WHO THE HELL WASH PUPPY IN TOILET? I think this is suspicious! I think the owner has a sick twisted mind and wanted to see what would happen if he flushes the toilet with puppy inside. And then after flushing toilet, he just suddenly changed mind and called 911.

:mad2:

I think the little boy was just giving the puppy a "bath"....and flushed the puppy..not meaning to do any harm!

I remmy one of my own boys doing the same with a 8 week old kitten....but he didn't flush the cat! I caught him in the bathroom and yelled "What are you doing"? ...He said so innocently...."KItty needs a bath"!....I got the kitten out, wrapped him in a towel. He was fine, just very wet!

The kitten grew up to be a beautiful long hair tudexo cat, which the boys named "Baby Love"....Very special cat!

I think it is more a case of the parent not supervising the child.

It was a four year old kid for goodness sake!!!! I doubt the child intended to hurt the puppy... And I have to agree with Bott on this, though, who thinks that a four year old plans to dumb your puppy into the toilet to wash it?

Kids do all kind of crazy stuff  I can make you a list of what the boys have been up to... ;)

i said that was disturbing that i meant for the video that i dont want to see it. Any small kids didn't mean to do something so crazy.

I didn't watch all of the video... only to the part where the camera reached the puppy... Didn't need to view the details of the rescue and poor puppy... :(

And I wasn't talking to you but to Jiro :cool2: I'm not sure but I think he missed out on the part that it was a four year old boy trying to wash his puppy dog clad in mud...

oh no. glad you mentioned it. I clicked on video first before reading it and stopped it right there. I replied it that was disturbing. without reading it because it got me feel so sick. I finally read it and then saw your post. i realize that your post was true. so i had to clarify my orginial post.

i wish i didnt see the video in the first place.

From what I observed in the video. The puppy is helpless and blind and should NOT be washed by a human. The puppy should have stayed with the mom to take care and clean the puppy up. The parents should NOT allow a 4 year old play with the puppy or bath in a toliet or something. I am surprised the kid's parents didn't hear the puppy crying or hear splashing sounds. It shows how unfit the kid's parents are. I think usually the mother dog should be protective over their babies being taken away.
