She had five of them. She started panting and whining about 930 am. First puppy came about 1030am. And four more followed, about 30 apart.

They are so cute! I will be sure to post pictures tomorrow. :)
 
Can't wait to see the pictures! I love puppies.

I have to keep encouraging the Momma dog to leave the kennel. To give herself a break to eat, drink and to go outside to potty.

Seems like she can not stand leaving her pups. She is a very protective mother. :) She lets me handle her pups, but she gets real nervous.



I had to cut up cardboard off the box to put inside the edge of the kennel to keep the puppies from falling out. They are so tiny, that they literally fall through cracks.

My daughter said they look like little white rats! :giggle: My kids really enjoyed watching the birth of the puppies. It was a good learning experience for them.

The Mama dog is a standard short haired Chihuahua.

The stud is a long haired teacup chihuahua.


I am not sure which ones of the puppies will be long haired, and which one will be short haired. Have to wait until they get older.
