Angry Jerk Groomer!

I have a question about my mom's dog had a long cut on her ear by groomer use a jerk shave on her to cut 2 inches tore. Do you think my mom should fill out a lawsuit to SUE on Parlor Grooming company?

My mom's dog took her to hospital for surgery yesterday. She has a stitches on her right ear and other stitches on her belly spayed. I am not very impress with her groomer. She did cut my dog's near to ear before. She had an infection in her ear. My husband and I decide took her different groomer which she is really scare of Parlor Pooch Groomer. It happened to my dog twice times. I don't trust her first old groomer anymore. The groomer did cut my mom's both dogs' skin many times!

I would complain to the groom store owner and get some help for paying the vet bills.

But don't go sue'ing. That's what's wrong with this country now, everybody is fast to sue someone.

If I could I would have thrown in some other words, but i doubt it is acceptable here.

Also if they don't do anything, just start going somewhere else, and tell everyone that you know that goes there, to not go back anymore cause they apparently don't know what they are doing and they don't handle business responsible.

If it happened before, why go back again?

That would be used against you if this ever went to court.

Really? Why the groomer was a jerk and shaved to cut the skin??? She did to owner's dogs. Why owner can't sue on her? My mom's dog's ear is look terrible and bad! It's poor baby. Why groomer did to her many times? She cut my dog's skin close to ear cause get infection because the fur dematted in her ear. The groomer didn't handle with my dog's ear.

My mom said groomer will pay the vet bills. My mom is not going to pay for it. Because it's groomer's faulted.

I absolutely agree with Madison here, I wouldn't expect people to go around suing so fast because it doesn't solve anything really, do you have a vet bill showing injured while grooming if so then talk with the groomer about who is going to pay for the vet bill...

How many times has your mother's dog been to Parlor Pooch Groomer? since you stated above that the groomer cut the dog's ear many times, if so, why did you go back to the same place then?.. I'm sorry I'm trying to understand but I'm confused..

Okay, Let me explain to you. It was in 2004 before my dog was in her mom's belly. We thought the groomer was nice and good groomer. When I had my dog got first groomer when she was 4 months old. Her fur need trim on paws and face. Because her breed is toy poodle. She was afraid of groomer at first time. Then next month. She got afraid. I took her different groomer at PETCO. It was little expensive. I decided to took her in same place at Parlor Pooch for cheap. My dog was act like strange behave and scare of groomer. The groomer cut her skin near to ear. She had an infection. In few months later, I took her go to grooming. She got cut again. She won't stop itch her skin so hard. I put her on cone collar to prevent of itch cause tear the skin. My husband looked for a new groomer in rich place. My dog love the groomer at Happy Tail Grooming. I noticed she never have get any blood or cut from shave razor. We trust the groomer in rich area. I told my mom need find different place and groomer. She said will never go same place again. She need to know better about groomer's way. I offer her go to Happy Tail same as my dog's. She said it's too far for her. It take her about 15 minutes drive there. Yes, My mom said groomer is paying the vet bills for cut the dog's half ear.

I was through about file a lawsuit sue. But owner dogs can't do anything? :umm:

Shame on you the first time, shame on me the second time.

This quote comes to mind on your situation. I don't know why you took your dog back the second time. I wouldn't even bother looking them up the next time if they can't cut my dog's hair without cutting the dog.

I hate to say it but you going back to the same groomer was just asking for it.

My dog haven't go to Parlor Pooch Company for long times since last years ago in Feb 2007. I am so impress with her new groomer than old groomer. My mom and I are different groomers for our dogs. I kept telling my mom to get different groomer for her dogs. Now, she woke up and know better.

How about do you have a dog with grooming???

Hey Pinky,

I have experience with grooming, so I can give you some insight.

First, you cannot really "sue" the parlor. It's best to just make them recuperate the vet bills and if there's any bills occurring after that (for example, if it has gotten worse or infections and stuff), then make them pay. Otherwise, that's pretty much all you can do.

Secondly - Toy poodles and little dogs can be a major pain in the ass sometimes. It depends how good the dogs sit still. Toy poodles have very fine hair compared to a lab or Golden. For OLDER animals, the skin themselves get very weak. Similar to the elderly people where their skin is weak. Having said this, it's slightly easier to get the skin cut up, especially toy dog breeds with fine fur. Many groomers do not give a sh**, and just want to rush through the procedure. But you know what...that causes problems and stress on the dogs/cats.

I also suspect that because the place is "cheap" like you said, they probably do not have clean blades. It's similar concept in having a guy shave. If the blade is slightly dull, he will get little cuts. Same thing with clippers. Animals can also get clipper burns if the groomer doesn't allow the blade to cool down. Another way to get clipper burn is if using the blade the wrong way, and it looks like it is a bad scrape.

So, honestly, the dog is much better off going to PetCO/ Petsmart or even some Veterinary Hospitals have groomers.

I am so sorry to hear about your mom's dog. Since it sounds like the dog got infections...I probably suspect that the blade is dull, and the groomers doesn't care. Also, the infection can spread from dog to dog...so if your mom keep bringing her dog back, she WILL continue to have infections whether she has cuts or not, and that's not good.

Many of the very good places tend to spray the clippers and blades with Antibacterial stuff (similar stuff that hair cutter's use).

Thank you for telling me. I understand what you're talking about. I didn't realize about clipper's razor was dull. Why the groomer don't give a shit to cut on skin when they are in rush?

My mom's dog is 7 years old. Her skin is very sensitive as old. I am feeling bad for her. She had an infection on her skin many times. I told my mom to go my dog's groomer place at Happy Tail Grooming. There is the best. She don't like to drive far away. Ohh well.

About the only grooming my dog needs is her nail clipped. I do those myself.

But a friend of mine has a dog that needs grooming and his groomer hasn't cut the dog's skin or anything in the pass 5 yrs he has been taking him.

Like mentioned it was a crappy groomer and your family and friends should not go there. Sounds like a place that would be hurt by word of mouth.

We have had a problem with one groomer who worked for our vet. She did get little cuts on the dogs, so I guess she had a dull blade like Lady Sehkmet said.

Now we do drive for fifteen minutes more but we have a better groomer and the dogs are not scared.

I would make them pay, that doesn't sound professional, if it wasn't the first time it won't be the last time either, their business needs to be shut down. I take my dog to PetSmart for grooming, they do an awesome job on my dog. I haven't had any problems with them.

You may not be aware of it, but mats are a serious problem..Pets left in a matted condition are usually ignored or neglected by their owners, Mats can become so tight it can tear the skin and cut blood circulation off to areas Often Matting will also hide other problems, Sores, infections, cuts!!

Phillips's right. Matted areas can be a problem. It's easier to groom a clean dog. When I lived in Miami, I always had the vet clip one of my dogs' nails. His nails are totally black so hard to figure where to cut becuz you can't see where it will not hurt, where it will hurt...

All becuase a tech cut his nails too short. He was taken care of with a powder without my knowing about it. He walked fine to the car. Then he bled all over the back seat in no time flat! So I CALLED out the veterinarian out to the parking lot to see what happened with my dog. Boy, was she FURIOUS. So everytime in that office, She or her hubby cut the nails. Techs are off-limits with this dog.

No matter, the pedi-paw arrived in the mail today. No more nail cutters.

That what groomer ignored my dog's ear with matted inside. My dog was act like strange with her behave. Her head was shake and couldn't stop. I took her to VET. Her vet found it out she had an ear infection with fur. He showed me a swab with brown. Ekkk! He used a special clipper for ear inside to remove the hair and matted.

I always brush and comb my dog's fur all the times. I don't like the matted fur. It's pain in the ass! I know matted is not good for health.

You're right. That's why I don't trust this company anymore. My dog is happy at her rich groomer so far. I am not good at nail clip for my dog. I am afraid do trim my dog's nails. It happened to me once time. I'll never do it again. I prefer she go to grooming
professional.

I have a question. How much cost for grooming?

Parlor Pooch- $24 and senior citizen owner of dog for $21 then increased to $28

Petco-$28

Happy Tail Grooming-$30 to $35. I have to deal with expensive grooming professional.

I agree with you. They need shut down their business. But It's good accessories and supplies for food, bed, toys, costumes, shirts, design colorful leashes, collars, harness and many more. But the groomer is not doing good job to all owners dogs.

Mine was $36.00 at PetSmart, prices are varies by the size and age of the pet, that's included nail trimming with the full service grooming.

Pinky, you are getting a good deal. I pay Petsmart $43 per dog each time. I save money each payday for two months, and then we go get the dogs groomed. They do a really good job though and the dogs are happy to go there.

pinky,

im sorry about your dogs got cuts and also include your mother's

but you can get face off at groomers but you can chose whatsoevers going for groomers than petco.

im suggestion you can chose what you wanted chose favorite groomers they dont get jerkers and insults as recalls.

i think vet's office have groomers also include! than groomers

you can talk with groomers boss or you can sued at court if you can going for justice that your choice.

But Pinky brought a good point up why the groomer ignored it. I would inform the pet owner about infection, etc like what you said here straight way when I were groomer. If he/she ignored it then is their responsiblity.

I find interesting to read your comments here about the groomer... Most pet salon is in Vet.

I was at waiting room in the Vet because of my cats... Some owners go in pet salon or vet... I find interesting how and what the dogs came out from pet salon with exciting impression...

I can't say anything because I don't experience like that before...
