I don't want my cat to go outside at all.
1. cat fights 2. getting animals to eat dead mice, birds , etc 3. being gone too long time. 4. car accidents. no thanks :-/

I had two cats, both of them were outdoor cats, they stayed wherever they wanted to -in or out.
I know -fights, cars, coyotes, birds, diseases and all, but I can not imagine keeping a cat inside. I had one that was always inside bec. we lived in an apartament, but here now I have a house and it wouldn't be even possible to keep a cat inside.. for instance, in the summer the doors to patio have to be open or we would fry inside. Our cat is outdoors. Not that it was my choice. Hub wanted him
outside because of our daughter's asthma. He rarely comes in, just to eat, and drink. If the girls are home, he is gone. When it's bedtime and they are well off in bed. He comes home and sleeps in his favourite spot in the backdoor way. It's away from the girls and they can't see him. |

I agree with you that my baby cat name is PUFF. I do not allowed my cat to go outside period! Because I got so tired of my cat always got bleeding on his legs because of too many FIGHT FIGHT with other cats!! Also my cat also drop dead mice, rats and birds at the backdoor. It was sooo YUCKY to see them!!! I had my cat neutered last fall. My cat sit and looked out the front window because he missed to be outside. When we have company coming to our house and he go hide it himself! HA My cat is very close to me all the time. My cat also loved to sit on my lap while I am typing my computer. LOL! That is PUFF!!!
Last year, it was funny!! My mother in law came and visited with us. She heard something a funny noise out in the back and it was Puff got into fight with another male cat so we had another dog Dashchund in the house and he ran after the stray male cat and that cat got scared and jumped over the wood fence! HAHA LOOLOLOLO It was sooo funny when we saw our dog was protected our cat. I hugged my dog and cat both! You look my picture cat look outside that he missed outside there. my cat are pictures here... |

My first kitty was a mature Siamese male. He was a stray that we adopted. He was used to going out, and faithfully came home every night. However, he was bad.
We lived in Navy housing, which was townhouses. It was in Pensacola, and during nice weather people left their doors open (no screen doors). So our kitty just visited whatever houses he wanted. They were all the same layout inside, so he knew his way around. He would go upstairs, open the hall linen closet (they had louvered doors), jump up to the towel shelf, lay down, and close the door. Our neighbors did NOT enjoy opening up their closet doors and seeing two bright eyes staring at them. (He caused a few near heart attacks!) When he wanted to come back into our house, he would plaster himself like a spread-eagle bat on our window frame, or he would dangle from the front door knob and twist it back and forth. He was scary. All our other cats after him were indoor cats (we learned our lesson).

Anyway, for my cats i had in the past are always outdoors, when living in city area... when we moved to rural area... we only keep the cat indoor at night time and let it out during day time, because we were living near by the forest and out during the night time the possums, as our neighbor explained about one of their old cat got attacked by the possum during the night, when she was walking in the forest, and sadly died. Today i dont have any cat, since my old cat had to put to sleep when she was 20 years old. So someday will get another cat. |

I own three cats. Two cats goes outside while one is indoor cat. The Indoor cat is too afraid to be outside.. As for two outdoor cats, it something they really wanted to be and will do anything to escape. I have done everything trying to keep them indoor but they are way too smart. They will wait at the right moment like one of my children open the door to come in from outdoor, they will make wild mad dash to outdoor. Thankfully, I live in country where cars is rare on the road.
I would like to explain to people who don't like the idea of dead mouses, birds, rats, rabbits, whatever cat kills. If you find them on the porch for you to see. Its their way of telling you that they love you and want to take care of you by feeding you their foods just like you would do for them. They just don't understand that we the humans don't eat their kind of dead animals meal. Just pat them and say thank you but no thanks!! Give it back to them and they will finish it up for you!!!

Cats outside??
Hi there all....
I own four wonderful cats their names are Darkangel, BooBoo , tinkerbell and nightcrawler I used to have a cat who loved to go out and always come home at 5pm for her dinner time past 6 years and one day she went out happily it was in the country area no speeding cars etc we live at the dead end.... and somehow She went missing in action after 5pm came and went.... so I never found her I looked everywhere and could not even find her dead body if she did died.... so after that I dont really allow cats out again because I didnt want to risk losing other one again plus there are other things out there that can harm-kill the cats. What more cats live longer if stay inside the house, I know that its good for cats to be out in the fresh air and their natrual habits... cant help it lol So I do understand postive and negative about indoor and outdoor.

i used to have a cat name patches..i got her when she was 3 days old as she was raised on a bottle as her momma died of car ranover. anyway she died last year at the age of 15 yrs. she was indoor cat at first then learned to go outside and love outdoors more than indoor. she never hunted. I really tried to teach her to learn how to hunt but she see me play with so she automatically think its just to play with not eat? they imitate everything you do.. lol.. i really missed her so much.. she was my baby!
right now i have 15 cats.. yes too many i know..most of them are outside cats but 4 are indoor cats but i let them out in daytime. 7 are wild and the rest are tamed. one cat i have is a mixed bobcat..he always go out in daytime then at night time he come in and sleep with me. hes declawed. he is sweet but doesnt get along with other cats weird. at least hes good with kids..
