What breed was the dog and if the dog is getting on in its years then maybe a small relaxing space with a dog pillow in the house will do the dog wonders... The dog will thank you and consider a wooden gate, the kind you use to stop babies or small kids from running into the kitchen while you cook dinner? You know what I am talking about right? Obivously I am a guy and not sure of what it is called... I know it is a wooden gate, it sometimes expands or is painted white while the wood frame stays that way, wood tan.
What is your dog breed please? or is the dog not recongized or acknowledged by the American Kennel Club. http://www.akc.org/breeds/breeds_a.cfm |

The long hot dogie was bite me my right hand when I was a little girl at age 10 or 11 years old. I was screaming and crying that was hurt me with the time with my older sister and my cousin. They took me to my gramma and grandpa's house to the bathroom of cleaning my right hand then they wanted me to show my dad to see if my right hand was okay. I am still having my scar right hand. I never forget it about what happened when I was a little girl.

I have been bit by dogs so many times. I accept each dog bite. I really do accept each dog bite.
Shocked? Ok I will explain why. When you own a dog. That comes with the territory. Most people do not want to acknowledge their dogs will one day bite them and they are shocked and will not admit it but if you go in with that mindset in on here out that then your dog bites you... You will know it is an Animal Bite and nothing more. Dogs bite for a good reason. I have heard people tell me " That dog bit me for no reason. " Well, there is a good reason the dog bit that person. It may not be the person the dog is biting but may have been handled by somebody else and finally the dog snaps. There are many variables at work in the dog's life that you may not know or be aware about or seen about. Two good mottos to go with this mindset are... " When I own a dog, I know the dog will bite me someday wheter it was my fault or not my fault. The dog is an animal going by his instincts. Dog's instincts do not lie. That comes with the terroritory. I will go ahead and enjoy my dog. I am not worried because I know these things do happen. " When I own a cat, I know the cat is bound to shred my face, neck and rip me to pieces someday wheter it was my fault or not my fault. That cat is an animal going by his instinct. The cat's instincts do not lie. That comes with the terroritory. I will go ahead and enjoy my cat. I am not worried because I know these things do happen. " I have heard stories of women petting and loving their cats and all of a sudden , the cats start attacking, shredding and ripping up women's faces for no reason. Well, there was a good reason the cat acted the way it did. You could be playing go fetch with your dog and your dog shows he is happy then comes back still looking happy on the 2nd round of the go fetch and bite you. I know it seems cold and vicious but the dog is doing that for a very good reason. I have seen it happen. Dog goes fetch a stick all happy then back forth happy then come back attack the dog owner really vicious with no remorse or mercy. The conventional wisdom is that the dog attacked the owner for no reason. That thinking is wrong. The dog does bite for a very good reason. It may not be known to the dog owner or you or me or anybody for any good reason. What it really is just what that is. Animal Bite. When you can accept that then you can Now, go enjoy your dogs and cats !!!! Last edited by Heath; 12-27-2005 at 04:30 AM. |

Me too never got bite by dog. I know how to respect dogs. I had friend who have 2 mastiffs! When I first met these two dogs. My friend was so shocked that they were very friendly to me. I told him that it is IMPORTANT to respect dogs and not showing any fear. Looking in dogs though eyes with fear invites anger from dog and make dog think your the predator.
Know what Mastiff is? It is HUGE dog, about 120 lbs! and can stand (With all feet on ground) as tall as 5 feet! You could basically stare in these dog eyes if you sit! Their mouth almost big enough to eat WHOLE chicken at once! Quote:

I haven't been bitten myself, but I did own a dog that bit someone once.
We used to have an 8-lb. Shih Tzu. One day while the dog was eatting, the little girl next door (my daughter's friend) bent down to look at the dog. I guess the dog felt threatened for her food. Anyway, the dog snapped and bit the little girl. Fortunately, Shih Tzu's have severe underbite jaws, so she didn't even break the skin. But our dog had to be put in quarantine (like house arrest) for two weeks to make sure she didn't have rabies. (Her shots were up-to-date but quarantine was still required.) After two weeks she was fine, the girl was fine, and that was the end of that. Sometimes little dogs are more aggressive because they feel easily threatened by everyone bigger than them. |

Diehardbiker... The one you are talking about? I know they are very big dogs.
They are called a Man's Dog for a very good reason. This dog breed is not for everybody. You gotta be extremely strong to own a Mastiff. The Mastiff http://www.akc.org/breeds/mastiff/index.cfm Last edited by Heath; 12-27-2005 at 03:36 PM. |

That is how they communicate. They don't mean to bite you but that is how they gotta tell you something is up. Some dogs don't like their space being invaded etc. |

Loki : God of Mischief

ahhh, flashback is coming back to me lol... I had been bitten by a dog 4 or 5 times, a cat a couple of time in my whole life, guinea pig, hamster, and even a goldfish (nipple but scared me lol)
I remember the dog bites alot more than other bites cuz more serious happen than other. Most of the dog bites are because of my two dogs fighting over something and try to stop them fighting then one of the dog will bite me cuz not realize it was me trying to stop them. That happen many time, but 3 or 4 serious bite that require cleaning and bandages. Cats, I don't really have alot of cat biting me, but a couple of time one of my cat would bite me, she is old and cranky sometime lol. Guinea pigs, i cant remember but i know they bit me before. Same as hamster, I kjnow they bit me alot but one time i remember is when i was holding it and he bit me right on top of my finger, it scared me and shocked me, as immediate reaction i jerked my hand and he went flying across the room, hitting a door. I was so guilty and upset when i saw that he blacked out, but he woke up and was fine. It scared me and stuff i will never forget that, cuz i didnt mean to hurt him. All my life i have been bitten by animals for various of reasons, but i don't mind cuz i am used to it. I know the risks of having animals means having risk of being bitten, but i accepted that long time ago, when i was baby cuz that when my parent have pets since i was baby. I had gone through the last 19 years in my whole life with pets of some sort, never one day without any animal in my house. amazing eh. lol right i forgot to add... my dog had bitten my friend twice, one time cuz she was trying ot help me stop the dog fight, another time she went too close to the dog while she was chewing on a bone, and well naturally she got defendative (sp?) and snapped at her. |

Am attached and in LOVE!

I've been bitten a couple of times by my mother's dog this past year...the first one was because I got in his way when he was trying to charge and attack another dog ahead of us on our walk. The second time was when I was trying to get him off my bed one night and he didn't want to move.

They evaluated this dog and decided to put him asleep. It is breaking this family heart and girl. Aww man.....*shaking my head* that has got to hurt. My stomach winched when I saw her. I will pray for her and that was an animal bite like I said. Just an animal bite in the another posting that I made.
That is terrible to look at especially when small ones are involved. I am an uncle to my nephews and nieces. I would not want to that happen to them at all. Raw emotions and remembrance can stay with somebody for a very long time. I pray for her mental and emotional scar from the animal bite to heal in Jesus Christ's Name I pray. Amen. Be happy she is safe and still can run and play so please be thankful and grateful for that too.
