Here is the pic of the black squirrel I encountered today. :)

I saw black squirrels in Canada , I can't remember seeing them when I lived in Berkeley ,California . I guess my dog was running them out of the yard.
We have some red one here

This took place in South Haven, Michigan.

Speaking of squirrels, has anyone ever seen a white one? They are a very special kind, and are federally protected. One of the towns in Illinois has one of the largest populations of such squirrels, as indicated by this list (the town is 3rd from the top). Seeing one is very special indeed.

A friend of mine has seen Blue Squirrels... so it's neat to see that.

I've never seen one. I have seen a few black ones, though. In fact, there was one around my neighborhood a few years back. Haven't seen it since. Blue squirrels are new to me.

I see albino squirrels here quite often. I'm not surprised anymore when I see them. I don't see black ones too often but sometimes in my backyard.

Really strange for me, of all the time I've lived in NC and have only seen reds of differing hues.

NC don't have them all we have are red and gray squirrels. When I lived in Ohio it was all black squirrels.

I've seen both black and white squirrels. We have a small population of the dark phase-blacks where I am.

these black squirrles are in uk now....please take your grey and black squirrels back they ruined our native ones

OK , I thought it was in California , then that is why I never saw a black squirrel there. They where everywhere in Canada and I never seen one before and was not sure what it was at first. We where far away and I just saw these black animals running around . Some people call them tree rats here. My mom use to feed the squirrels and I told her they're rats with a fluffy tail .

I used to see black squirrels in my old home, which I really love, and red ones too - the red squirrels are smaller and man are they fast....and feisty....:eek3:

Grey and black. Long time ago I have seen light brown / red in Long Island not too often. Grey is the most. Recently I saw very light grey with off white tail. I knew it s mixed with white and grey. I'd love to see the white one.
