70's posters

Hi to all

I was google searching for old posters that I used to have back in 70's. I had bundle of these ( about 10 to 12 of these!!!) in the basement and my parent threw it away without my knowledge. I was soooo pissed cuz it's rare and there are no re-prints of those posters I looked for. I did find very few of them which is commonly 80's posters. I was wanting to show my kids what I used to have...

Those posters which I had are funny (funky) posters, Psychedelic posters, and Black Light poster (glows neon when black light was in use). Some are harlious poster that make you laugh but it's pretty offensive to some (none are nude or dirty, just political and funky about products ect). Many of these came from my brother's friend who bought it from Spencer Gift store, Peach Record store, and one of store that had many funky, funny, and cool stuff back in 70's..

I would list few poster that I could best describe:

-Comic Poster of Snarly Snoopy wearing pointed Nazi helmet flying on bullet riddled burning "red baron" with swastik symbol on side (dog house) holding handle of sub-machine gun shooting downward to Woodstock on ground while it was shooting back at Snoopy with sub-machine gun.

-Funny Poster of man with no brain in his head (top of his head was removed and in his head look like a "bowl" (no brain inside) and he was looking up. It's a photoshopped picture back in 70's.

-Funny Poster of Chevy car with big fat rear wheel and narrow front wheel appear to turned left and car reared up (car appears to be curved when rear up) with an oversized engine with blower on top of it with exhaust pipe burning with flame on end while crazed guy stuck out of driver side window with long tongue sticking out flapping in air, bulging his eye and his hand was holding long stick shifter through car sunroof. (It glows neon under black light)

Those posters are what I can remember very well. All posters are not reprinted or not founded in website.

There are few posters I found on website which are in 80's such as Panther creeping toward you which is a Black Light poster, It's the same one I bought it from Spencer Gift store. I found in Ebay and cost $7. Some website show many posters I remmy very well which are Psychedelic which glows neon under black lights.

I wish I had a better hiding place at my parent's home so that I can pass it to my kids. I told them of posters I used to have.

Those who live through 70's would remember about funny or cool posters in bedroom.

If any of you know website other than website that I've checked ( I've checked 3 or 4 website, one from UK and other have many psychedelic posters, that's all I can find).

I doubt so. I was posting this assuming that it might be related to the topic in AD. I can't find correct topic so I picked the closest topic related to Art...

I am not sure if anyone who are as old as me still have old posters stashed in their attic or basement.

In fact I love old posters back in 70's cuz they are so cool, funny, and mesmerizing. My brother's friend had those posters filled in his room and use black light. Some posters just a joke related to stuff.

Today poster isn't cool and look more of technological, too extreme, overly sexy or too boring. It seem that poster artist aren't making one that is similar to 70's. I've seen late 60's posters but it's more of rock band characters like Beetles, Jimi Hendrix, and few others.

One of the poster I grabbed at work was a man look like a baby. I can post picture of it. It's a funny poster. Even though it's wrinkled because the General Clerk rolled up and use rubber band. I placed it in my car and somehow it got smashed and crushed.

 Oh well..

It's hard to find in garage sale, I've checked Ebay and there's no posters I wanted. I found several of "Black Panther creeping toward you". I'm not interested in that cuz I used to have that.

I know it's not exactly Snoopy but that's my favorite Poster back in 70's

My parent threw them away when my brother tried to hide it for next generation grrrr!!

Yup It was popular back then.

I found lot of vintage black light posters in Ebay. Many of them I've had in my brother's basement and even friend's basement. It's so colorful under blacklight. I missed it back then No nudity blacklight poster was allowed at my parent's home so did my friend's

Rambling here..

I had a original Return of the Jedi poster I picked up from a second hand type store (We have lots of these in KY) back in the late 80's. My mom paid $3 for it. It was in rough shape so it would not appeal to any Star Wars collectors but still it was pretty sweet.

There's also this store in a nearby town that has been shut down for as long as I can recall. In fact, I have no recollection of this place ever being open. The thing that puzzles me is during all these years of being closed, nothing in that store has been moved or boxed, etc. Looking through the glass windows leaves me in complete awe because of all the items that are in there. There's quite a few 'gems'. On the walls are movie posters for a Charles Bronson film, something else AND... Indiana Jones: Temple of Doom.

An original Temple of Doom poster could fetch as much as $150-350 depending on its condition. Of course seeing as how this poster has been tagged on a wall for 20 years untouched, it looks kinda shitty. I've often considered calling and finding out who owns that place and whether or not they would be interested in selling anything. There's a monster load of tennis shoes still in boxes. Finding a pair of Jordan shoes from the 80's would likely be worth quite a bit.
