V (television series)
Finally... it's happening!
Remember in the 1980s when there was a television series called V? Well, they're doing a new series that's coming soon. Here are a couple clips from the show. Video: ABC's creepy 'V' remake--The Live Feed

I lvoe the original series. I will give tje new series a chance to see how I like it or not.
It is hotly rumored that Jane Badler (Diana fro the original series) will may appear in the new series as a different character. I would love to see her in the new series as long as she reprises her role as Diana. |

I agree, I love Jane Badler and would like to see her as Diana in the new series. I also would like to see Ham Tyler ( Michael Ironside) come back

I have deep reservations about this new series. It's hard to top an original.
Sadly though, Hollywood seems to be running out of original ideas, therefore they are making "remakes" as it were. They need to find and hire people who can think up original ideas. What I'd like to see is more deaf series, but they're too cheap to hire interpreters for the benefit of deaf actor/actresses. They seem to believe it's cheaper to hire hearing people with the knowledge of ASL. Ticked me off they canceled "Reasonable Doubt" starring Marlee Matlin, as the Suits thought that a deaf attorney is laughable. Yiz |

I have some young friends (who were too young to understand the original V series) that saw the previews and say, "Ooh, that show looks interesting! I wanna see that!" When I tell them that it's a remake, their typical response is... "Oh, they did? I didn't know." Another reason for rebooting originals is to give it a try with newer filming technology. I do have a few friends who thought the original V series looked so fake. "Gee, my Halloween mask looks better and more realistic than those alien masks!" Even though I liked the original, I'm open to seeing how they do it differently. It could be better... or worse.

It was alright, but they went too fast, skipping important elements from the original and not giving us time to interact into character development. They basically went through both mini-series in a crunch time.
Next week, they'll prolly slow down to give us time to get to know each character to allow us to develop a understanding of who they are and what their backgrounds are. First episodes and especially first season gets shaky at best. It takes time to develop each character and write a good story about them. If that is, they have a staff of good writers. For me, I want good stories, less special effects. Yiz |

That is the #1 problem I got with it. Its going too fast there is no "feel" to it. I ask myself if I have never seen the original would I feel different about the new one? and I still think no because it just that bad. But I will watch all of it anyway. It might get better.

There are several I like about this tv show.
- CGI of spaceship is pretty good for such TV program - Laura Vandervoort play another alien role! - Become part of drama n' suspect in sci-fic - New plot that Visitor has been already here in Earth before attack - Reveal several of Visitor willing help instead later - There is one of them, always stubborn, join the bad. |

The new "V" was a big hit in TV rating last night.

After watching the first episode, I felt that V doesn't "grab" me like the first episodes of other sci-fi's such as Fringe, Life on Mars, Sarah Connor's, etc. I am still going to give the show a chance though, because I like sci-fi's.
