A Clockwork Orange Movie in 1971

A Clockwork Orange (1971)

I hardly understand this movie because it made no sense to me. I think, that movie made in Germany.

It was an American movie that takes place in England.

I liked the movie because of its psychologically twisted plot.

I understood the movie pretty well.

Were there any parts you didn't understand?

The first time I heard about the title was when I was walking through a local video rental store. I saw the box with the weird guy wearing eyeliner and holding an eyeball. I was like, "Eh? Not gonna watch it!"

Years later, I ended up working at a local video rental store and someone mentioned how good the movie was. So, I decided to watch it.

I actually enjoyed it.

The same thing happened to me with Rocky Horror Picture Show.

I saw the cover for that and shrugged. Later, a friend recommended it at the same store I worked at. So, I rented it. Awesome!

They even show that movie at RIT every year. Know what's funny? One interpreter (who looks like a real Santa Claus) actually dressed up in kinky lingerie when he went to interpret for this movie night! Yikes!

I wish they had A Clockwork Orange at RIT as well. That would be a great Psychology movie.

They showed that movie in my film philosophy class in college. It's truly a masterpiece in its own right.

Are you talking about where he's strapped to the chair and forced to watch a bunch of videos? If so, that's a common method of brainwashing.

In order to make sure that you don't close your eyes while watching something, they hold your eyes open with tape or whatever. However, if you don't blink... your eyes will dry out. So, they use eyedroppers to keep the eyes wet as they should. This is common for these procedures.

As for the statue of the penis, that was just a symbol of twisted sexuality in the movie. When they make movies like these, they will usually have twisted objects throughout the movie. Another example would be the long-nosed mask that one guy was wearing.

I wonder why they do show that film in your philosophy class. It gets me curious... why would do the Professor doing this to the students?

Why don't you make it a text file or post it in your blog. I don't want to wait 3 minutes 34 seconds to read the whole list.

Consider yourself lucky that I didn't do a video to list all the DVDs I have. I simply made this list... Movie/Game List
