Originally, it was planned for the TV but then they decided to revise the script and turn it into a graduation/prom theme rather than a Halloween musical. With the DVD sales and how many people watched it on cable, it became obvious that they would release the third movie at the theatres because they'll make more money from it than they would from airing it on the TV.
Right now, the original cast are in talks to reprise their roles in the second sequel. It's reported that they are refusing to star in it until they get a raise in their salaries. So it's unlikely this was a factor in the decision to bring the third movie to the theatres because they had announced it prior to the negotiations. Not to mention that it cost $6 million to produce the first sequel. So the more you spend, the less you will make a profit from it. That's where the idea of releasing it at the theatres come in. Chances are they will be spending at least $20 million on this one, maybe $30 million. |

Yesterday, I have noticed about the DVD, is the second movie called "High School: The Concert?" and I have noticed also, that the characters are the same as the first one, indeed! Just saw the same actors/actresses, but in a older age - boy, they grow fast!

You joking? Are you serious? I just noticed something quite different than the first one, but did they just ACTUALLY film the actual concert or filmed the actual concert and filmed some different scenes on set?

Believe it or not, it's common for concerts to be filmed and then be sold on the DVD format to generate more revenues. They did it with Rolling Stones, U2, Dixie Chicks and many other bands during their concerts. |
