Captain America Died

Quote:
NEW YORK - Captain America has undertaken his last mission — at least for now. The venerable superhero is killed in the issue of his namesake comic that hit stands Wednesday, the Daily News reported.

On the new edition's pages, a sniper shoots down the shield-wielding hero as he leaves a courthouse, according to the newspaper.

It ends a long run for the stars-and-stripes-wearing character, created in 1941 to incarnate patriotic feeling during World War II. Over the years, an estimated 210 million copies of "Captain America" comic books, published by New York-based Marvel Entertainment Inc., have been sold in a total of 75 countries.

But resurrections are not unknown in the world of comics, and Marvel Entertainment editor in chief Joe Quesada said a Captain America comeback wasn't impossible.

Still, the character's death came as a blow to co-creator Joe Simon.

"We really need him now," said Simon, 93, who worked with artist Jack Kirby to devise Captain America as a foe for Adolf Hitler.

According to the comic, the superhero was spawned when a scrawny arts student named Steve Rogers, ineligible for the army because of his poor health but eager to serve his country, agreed to a "Super Soldier Serum" injection. The substance made him a paragon of physical perfection, armed only with his shield, his strength, his smarts and a command of martial arts.

In the comic-book universe, death is not always final. But even if Captain America turns out to have met his end in print, he may not disappear entirely: Marvel has said it is developing a Captain America movie.

I don't think he die. Because it doesn't show whole as it's evdience that Steven Rogers has die. It being cut panel then give memories.

I always believe that main character never die. remmy Superman death? he come back.

Remind me of "Death OF Superman" story in 1992.

I brought good bundle comics of Capt. America's Death then save them for next 15 years to sell them to back ebay bidders. Nice rewards after I saved "Death OF Superman'' comics (big bundle ones) and made good money from ebay bidders

I would like Frank Miller or John Byrne to do death story...oh well.

Death of Superman was high price and high demand, only less a year after release. And eBay wasn't exist that time. oh well!

I doubt that Captain America death will sell well. Unless, you use CGC to put in hard plastic seal and certified high as 9.9 to 10.0, it will be high value. Since it will never be exposure by any human's touch. Stay inside seal forever.

Right on about cgcomics as today's inversment. I could guess to drop all 100 to the comic inspectors to inspect and give 'em back to me with few 9.5 +.

Plus, Superman is one of best all time superhero along Batman and Spider-man. So, Captian America's death comic wouldn't be best selling?.

Depend on good story, best artist and great cover.
I know that cover look awesome.

If there is second copy of Captain America's death, then it's would be much value on 1st copy. But usually, second copy is low supply than 1st copy.

That happen to Batman when Jim Lee first work on it, the 1st copy have higher copy than the second. Which I have second copy issues is higher value. So, we won't know until couple months to find out.

He won't be exactly the same. No one will be exactly the same.

There's many characters for Flash, Green Lantern, Spiderman, etc... who says we can't have another Captain America?

Flash have same power - speed
Easy to know there is any character with similar power.

Green Lantern is use the power ring. It being choice. da da and Jordan have return back as Green Lantern - oh dear! Replace isn't there.

Spider-man - it never been replace anyone. What the hell are you talk about? Stan Lee refuse replace that dude. It been same since the introduce. *slap yoru head*

Don't you have knowledge about Captain America what he have power and what he think and a pride in america unlike crazy KKK? Steven Roger is only the man, NOBODY else is gonna be similar as him. He is unique. If he is replace, I'm going to burn Marvel Comic building.
