Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward. (and, yes, they are also married)

I'd say Bob Hope and Sophia Loren. I love Sophia Loren, even though she is still alive and acting.

I don't know the actor's name but I LOVED the movie "The Alamo" (not the new version - the old version with John Wayne) My favorite characters were:

William B. Travis played by ???
Jim Bowie played by ???
Bonham played by ???
Davy Crockett played by John Wayne

There were also a few other guys in the movie that I liked... basically I liked the entire movie. It's one of my favorites! (I'm from Texas :-D)

before the 60's had bunch of good ones, just can't list them all. but just list my all time favorites. Abbott and Costello, Laurel and Hardy, Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis and of course John "The Duke" Wayne. as for the females, I would go with Judy Garland and Fay Wray from King Kong (1930's).
