Frankie Avalon on Beach costar, Annette

In this link is an interview from Frankie Avalon, the 1950s singer of "Venus" and 1960s Beach movies with Annette Funicello titled "Frankie's the word". smile.gif This article just came out a couple of weeks ago. smile.gif

This excerpt in the link about Annette:

The only cloud on that particular horizon is Avalon's much-loved co-star, Annette, the most popular original Mouseketeer, who became the dark-haired Sandra Dee opposite Avalon. Today, she is incapacitated, suffering from multiple sclerosis, the first signs of which she noticed while making "Back to the Beach" with Avalon in 1987.

"Our darling Annette," Avalon said. "It's just terrible what's happened to her. I can't even communicate with her now. I'll call and ask her daughter or nurse to tell her I called and that I love her."

I feel really bad for her. Last year, my mother said she saw Annette on TV talking to everyone trying to say the word "fans" but she couldn't really talk...she said it was sad.
