Does Walmart Edit The DVD They Sell??

My sister told me tonight that Walmart edit all the DVD they sell. Has anyone heard about this? I would be real pissed off if I brought a movie and it had parts of it cut out .

Sounds like copyright infringement and a huge expenditure of time and manpower. Why would they want to do that?

I seriously doubt they do that to DVDs.

Wal-mart used to edit swear words out of music CD's back in the day. I don't think they do that anymore.

Maybe for the food sample videos? Add a bunch of walmart products in the background.

If OP's talking about movies then sounds impossible without getting into legal issues with the MPAA unless they're paying them money.

walmart does not do the editting. walmart would refuse to sell CDs unless the record companies would edit the profanity from the CD. I hate censorship, yet I still bought a few CDs from walmart form my son when he was younger. I didn't mind him listing to the band, the F-Bomb was inappropriate for a 5 year old though.

to the OP: walmart does not edit movies not do the companies that distribute the DVDs. I've bought many movies titles with nudity and profanity from walmart.

Correct. I should have phrased it better.

I was told Walmart is editing and things that they feel is X rated . I think this so wrong , people do not have to buy a DVD if they do not like it.
