What are some of your favorites? Talk about some horror movies here.

I'm trying to find some old black & white one, but I don't know what it's called. Think it's from the 60's.

Recently, I watched The Exorcist (1973) again. It reminds me how good horror movies were back in the old days.

Today it seems more special effect is used and human organs to induce the stuck throat feeling effect.
 
Watch them time to time....one of the worst I've seen was "The Hiills Have Eyes" and "Night of the Living Dead."...Few others I can't recall the names of....(banging my head)...an old, old one, "The Swinging Door"....and the original "Jaws"....(I wouldn't even go ankle deep in the water at the Beach after that!)....gonna ask my son the name of the movie that I can't recall soon as he comes in from school....Also, the "Chainsaw Mascarade" was horrible! ...now I got it!...."Pinhead"....
 
I like horrors, but dont remember many favorite horror movies.

i like the old movies even better than the modern movies. it is way less gruesome of showing.
 
Here's another one I barely remmy, but scared me so much, I had nightmares over it...the original "Dragnet", starring Jack Webb, in the late 50's, black and white....

Another reason why small kids should not be allowed to watch horror movies, I believe....My sisters/brothers & I lived in a very, very small town with my grandfather, and the 1st movie theatre came to town....it was the 1st movie shown and the 1st one I had ever seen. No CC's back then, tho.

That was the only horror movie that ever gave me nightmares. The old version was just so creepy.

I like AMC's "The Walking Dead" series and can't wait for season 3.

There was an older horror movie I really liked that was made by Disney called "Something Wicked This Way Comes"
 
A Thing (Old) movie and the Devil's Reject movie are pretty scary with full of gores are my favorite horror movie. I do not remember many horror movies and I would check IMDB's website later. :D
 
I love all kinds of Horror movies. I've seen all kinds of classics and ones made more recently. I hate any kind of remakes like if they were to remake The Ring or The orginal exocists then i won't like it.

Modern horror movies I like...

1. House on Haunted Hill (the violently shaking head scares me for some reason. They also did that in Jacob's Ladder) This scene freaked me out.

2. The Strangers. IMO the scariest scene is seen on the front cover of DVD. A woman was unaware that a man has entered her house and watching her. This just gives me uneasy feeling. (Fun fact: the director graduated from a high school that I attended to. Also his very first movie)

3. Silent Hill
4. Trick 'r Treat (this makes me miss the traditional halloween celebration)
5. Vacancy
6. Dead Silence
7. Martyrs (a f**ked up movie, but very good)
8. The Descent
9. Stay Alive (you die in the game, you die for real)
10. Quarantine


There are two horror shows called "Masters of Horror" and "Fear Itself," both created by Mick Garris. Like Trick 'r Treat and Creepshow, it's an anthology with different characters and story in each episode.
 
Only when the Devil is in the picture, I don't like those that feature dressed up Halloween characters, kinda silly. LOL When I was a kid, I remember watching The Exorcist. Obviously I had serious nightmares that night, never saw anyone in my dreams, just the feeling of something lurking behind doors and large objects while walking throughout a strange house. I feel a tingle just remembering that, but I still watch them anyway!

Give Trick r' Treat a chance, never know if you'll like it. I enjoy watching foreign movies, it's kind of interesting to watch how they speak. High Tension and 13: Game of Death both are foreign and awesome but they both have gore in it. I saw The Orphanage, the ending is sort of sad and happy at the same time. I love movies with a twisted ending.
