Hello trulee, thanks for dropping by, it is bad news that they might be cutting your hours, and I am sorry to hear that, I am deaf in the right ear but I do not wear a hearing aid ........ yet but I am sure that it will come at some point in my life.
Nice to hear from you, and hope that we can chat sometime.
Hi trullee, I have three children they are all grown and I have three grandsons (all three are my daughters) age 9 mos, 4 and 6 years old. yeah, I know how that is lol. I'm very hard of hearing and wear two HAs. Well, talk to you soon and I hope everything works out for you.
Yes, learn as much as you can...sign, lipreading...i watch facial expressions..follow their eyes, body language..everything helps! I was the only one in my family who was deaf..my mom refused to treat me different..so life was hard! I had to teach myself...practice your speech in the mirror..i have a CapTel phone and captioned tv..do you have any of that?
I start drawing in junior high, I copied names on my favorite albums then cartoons for a long time but then I always draw in my spare time now has been 25 years and I know other artist so much better then myself.
Sure add me on your friends list....i know it's hard, you feel left out when you don't know what people are saying...i know i wanted to know every single word..i had to let go of that and be satisfied with some of the conversations...it's a process to acceptance..it can get you down...don't worry it's normal to feel like that...it will get better for you as time goes on
