Unfortunately, the only way we can change the world is through leading by examples. That means practise what we preach, give people the model of bicultural-bilingual education (or in my case, bicultural-trilingual), get our novels and papers published, get our films easily accessible by the consumer markets (Internet doesn't count here) and so on.

One can only gripe, blame others and blog so much before people get sick of it. So the fact you are a teacher means a lot more to hearing people out there than some of the video-bloggers. Just some prospective here. So it may not seems like much on some days, but you are changing the world directly.

Hi Shel! Do you know what happened to that thread -- I do not remember the title -- but a new poster was saying how being married to his deaf wife was a huge burden ?? I was speechless at that and said so! I think you posted there too. The thread is gone. Do you know what happened to it after I last looked at it last night? It must've gotten bad!

Shel, I just wanted to share some happy news. The new kid at work, the oral deaf one? He signs and uses ASL. He said that he had missed using ASL. Yay! Hope he works well too. Ha!
