Lantana, I'm a long-time cat lover. I've always had cats even growing up. At the moment I have one cat (a rescue), who is king of the house. Just ask the dogs! I have two dogs--both rescues who are my son's dogs. Nice family dogs, really. I'm down to one rodent right now (a gerbil). The gerbil entertains the cat and doesn't seem to be scared of the cat in the least. The one thing that I've never had is a bird. I've seen parrots who are very sociable, though, and I can imagine that parrots are nice pets.

I'm sorry to hear that you're a recent widow. It's great that you have a grand child. I was very close to my grandma and I understand how important that relationship can be. Grandmas offer a special kind of love.

Hello Sally Lou. You must be a cat lover like me. I have 4! Plus a Solomon Island Eclectus Parrot named Lenny. Most of the time everything is under control, the bird is the boss! I would be happy to be friends with you. My grand daughter found 2 kittens -- orphans -- and bottle fed them, and then gave them to me! They are very good therapy for me (after recently becoming a widow). Let's roll up our sleeves and give these guys some competition! Hugs,
