Sorry that was 2006, and here's the quote:

"Shoot!! Why didn't I think of that...why not bring my audiogram, my health record, my dental record, my service dog's health record, poop bags, extra batteries, extra leash, another hearing aid or two...damn! When and where is this going to end?

The paper from the ADA website, I presume, is about the service dogs. That can be done."

I just read your post from 2005 (!) about hearing dogs and housing etc... I was so inspired, I joined. Take a look at the inro I wrote. It's going to take a bit of time for me to post all my other info. I live in NY, and am training a hearing dog for myself. I'd bet you have lots of helpful advice on that. Would love to "hear it".

    steph,

You're not sounding like a dummy, much less a pure dummy. If I were you, I'd contact them again and continue to do so every week until you get an answer. The first message you send them, remind them they agreed to contact you about a sign language class and when that was. Tell them that you haven't heard from them and you are following up. In fact, reading through your message again, I'd contact them every Tuesday and Friday until you receive an answer. The second message you send, you should keep a copy so that when you write again after that, all you have to do is copy and paste it to keep your own typing down to a minimum. Keep the request the same and, as I said, keep hounding them until they answer you. Then, when they do, thank them profusely in the response!

Hi Pete, @ the risk of sounding like a pure dummy I thought it best to ask one person 1st & I've remembered you most of all here in the time I've been a member. I need to learn sign language & have asked many times to be signed up for the next classes at the AIDB.com they have them close to where I live in B'ham. The problem is, I have been waiting 1.5yrs. they say they will let me know when they have a next class but no 1's ever contacts me. I don't know if sometimes my mail goes to junk mail filter or if they haven't had a class, even though the website says they typically have one every semester. What would I need to do? The Docs say i will prob be totally deaf by 40-45 @ the rate of loss i am having. I'm 33 now & not getting any younger, what do I need to do?!
